Lockheed Martin offers F-16 Block 70, for India, from India, exported to the world

.
The contours of F16 latest offer suggests that it wont be able to meet India's wishes and requirements of technology. In reality the attempt to move to F35 is actually a face saving tactic from LM.

The reason being India with now firmed up investment of offsets of Rafale deal into Kaveri program has not asked for any engine technology from USA (Be it P&W or even GE) as compared to earlier stance. In simple words, the GE 414 tech is no more asked and this has taken out a big carrot from USA hands completely.

The 4 technologies desired under F16 deal is as follows
  1. APG 83 SABR radar codes and technology
  2. Sniper Pod complete technology and a ability to internalize such pods in future indigenous jets
  3. IRST pod again internalized
  4. Jammer Technology again internalized
In short, India wishes to utilize the SABR and integration of complete electro optical sensors with IRST and Jammers for Internal Fitment.

Such a case show cases two things clearly -
  1. This technology will be used for indigenous AMCA project
  2. LCA future iterations which may have possibly a longer length and reorganisation of LRUs and space may see usage of these tech shared by USA.
Unfortunately, these are gems which are basically in control of Senate approval and IPR are held by other entities (not LM).

The understanding is Israel, Japan, South Korea etc have not got access to such technology as well inspite of being much more closer to USA and sharing strategic relationship.

This is the reason that F35 gameplan is now being played by LM as they know beyond the participating countries who dont have access and Israel who is putting their own customization, no one is shared anything at all. This kind of takes out the technology sharing point completely out of the picture and the marketing campaign will focus on strategic value of India-USA relationship only.

This is the way the chess game stands as of now.

oh btw LM is not shifting the complete line to India and infact its only a partial line transfer..

Hello Sir Thanks for this information

But Is RAFALE deal happening or not

CCS meeting on def matters have not happened yet. The moment it happens we should hear some good news.. Its for sure that DM MP has given the note to CCS for approval and his viewpoints are added to it.

So now its CCS meeting waiting time for us.. Hopefully Rafale should figure in the agenda terms..

No f16, no F/A 18 for IAF. The only service where I see a possibility of a US origin frontline fighter is the IN. Say there was a super left leaning bernie type candidate elected say 8 or 12 years from now, and foreign affairs goes to a traditionalist democrat, for nuclear related issues, there is a potential to see another sanction regime against India. I would much rather prefer to stay with French-russo articles. In all aspects of regional issues, especially in pak-afghan-Iran areas India's and US interest might see divergence in the future. Also there is a greater chance of convergence in US-China relations if markets in the both country start deteriorating. As of now there is no pressing need to take front line system from US, because even if there is a good technology and cost incentive, the potential security risk is quite high. Just on a C/E matrix I would say a big no to frontline US systems.

Exported to the world.
A pathetic attempt by the paid media to atleast have some US origin strategic asset in the IAF inventory.
How many countries in the world are now interested in this vintage design.

. . .
you gonna get heart attack when it happens lol i hope after that you survive to see it coming..
Ok I gonna heart attack in kidney. But do wake me up when it happpens. Ok ?

empty words walk
Perhaps that been dragging the deal for so long? init ?

Or more like Pakistan getting 36 J-10 for same time? Oh wait now its Su-35....lolz
LOlxxxx. Pakistan never formally said nor held meetings or contest like MMRCA for that matter. We dont look like to make a joke out of ourselves as cash strapped nation. We have held ourselves quite well

.
may be Pakistan can buy these from the Indian facility - but first they have to improve their currency printing so they can pay for it in INR and not get caught
