What if Hürjet had STOVL capability ? That's why i am screaming here : Hürjet could be evolved into stovl aircraft project.

To small for that capability,they would have to start from scratch and design a new aircraft.

Abi Turkey also has ambition of UAVs. We all saying LPD needs UAVs. Once you had stovl aircraft , it would be easy to involve it unmanned stovl aircraft. Wont you wish UAVs with vertical capacity? How would you achieve your ambitions? You need to produce and gain know-how.

We produced t129 helicopters under Italian licence. Indeed Turkey assembled t129 helis. So Again it is very possible to assemble another aircraft AV8 Harriers if producer is agreed.

Geometry and shape of aircraft strongly effects on RCS. Also under wing weapons increase RCS.

Shouldnt we first wait for the possibility or impossibilty of th F-35?
If Trump gets re-elected we will probably get them but if not,then we need a viable alternative.

For sure f35b would be best. Unfortunately f35 happens to be sweat dream for us.

Recently TurAF made 8 hours operation over the mediterrian.

I cant imagine how Harriers would be lethal with AMRAAMs and especially sidewinders work from Helmet mounted displays like TurAF f16c's.

If there were those birds TurAF workload would be decreased by Navy.

I'm not actually endorsing this but since we're throwing crazy ideas out there, how about Mig-29K? They don't require a catapult so long as there's a ski-jump.

All we'd need is install a cheap STOBAR system (basically a spring-loaded arresting wire) on TCG Anadolu for catching them for landings. Here's a video of Mig-29Ks doing touch-and-go's, landings and self-powered take offs from India's Vikramaditya. Notice how they're using only HALF the length of the ship for take off and landing, thanks to their superb power-to-weight ratio.

Look at this crazy hot shot take off from something like 100 meters. With missiles and everything.

First of all, Harrier is a really old airplane. Nobody will reproduce them today. The aircraft needs lots of modification and a new engine. It looks easy to use an existing design but it is old and the engineers who designed the Harrier past away from our world. Also, that modifications cant pay off the investment if we cant export that. Do you know anyone will get (old) Harrier instead of F-35B?

TCG Anadolu is not an aircraft carrier, it will not be. We had an aim to get F-35 for it but that ship has been sink while ago. If the US continues that politics we will not get one. TF-X is really big for TCG Anadolu. We don't have enough money to develop both HÜRJET and TF-X individually so we cannot support naval version of the HÜRJET as well.

We need to wake up from a dream. If we want to fixed-wing on TCG Anadolu that will be and UAV. Not an old or new fighter.
