What's new

Life and death countdown begins for Asia Bibi

Section 295, better known as the Blasphemy Law, deals with religious offences and was meant to prevent religious violence. Prior to 1986, only 14 cases pertaining to blasphemy were reported.

So, from 1947 to 1986 - Pakistan and Islam survived despite not having this sort of tough Blasphemy laws and only 14 people were charged.

An estimated number of 1,274 people have been charged under the stringent blasphemy laws of Pakistan between 1986, from when they were included in the Constitution by General Zia ul Haq, until 2010.

Well...well...well...in 40 years you had 14 cases, but once these new laws came in...in 24 years, 1200+ people were charged. I wonder what changed? lol

ME is other issue. When you throw stones , you don't expect flowers in return, while palestinian using international aid for making tunnels , & rockets instead of school and food. What did they achieve from Jihad, it demolished their state.
U.N is doing effort for Peace in ME & other regions but Palestinian don't want peace with Israel. They fires rockets on almost daily bases, but when Israel reply them hard, they are using children & woman as shield .
the post u have quoted in ur post as mine is not mine...i didn't post that...how can u attribute words to somebody when he didn't said a word of it?

Compassion can also be a good thing, she has been in jail for a very long time, let her go.

When Prophet himself stopped Jabrael from destroying the city who threw stones and insults at him when he didn't ordered the killing of that old women i don't think he will ever order someone to be killed just because he/she insulted him many people have made their own versions of Islam that's why we've jahils and will continue to do so and

This is what Quran says about this issue:

“We have spared you those who ridicule you” [15:95]

In essence, the Qur'an is telling us that when it specifically comes to the issue of mocking the Prophet [SAW], which is exactly the issue that we are dealing with today. Don't take matters in your own hands, rather, God will take care of those who mock the Prophet. < This is what i was trying to say in my op in this thread. @Zibago

Bro this is a very sensitive theological issue, their needs to be a honest and sincere debate about it.

Let's stop being judges and let the real judges do their job.

Kudos to you bro, actually people bring out just half of the picture which suits their narrative.

I have been observing since morning..you seem to be so eager in advocating handing out death penalty to that poor woman.

No

No sir that was not the case ... He was of the view that blasphemy law should not be there ...
well! if his view was that than this does not mean that He should be killed...

Everyone has his own view. and if you agree with it or not you have to live with it..

I wonder how many muslims there would be today if the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) decided every person who insulted him or Islam deserved to die. Where the hell did the compassion go? Where is the opportunity to repent?

And that's assuming this woman is guilty of what she is being accused of

Everyday millions of us (muslims) insult the Prophet and Islam a hell of a lot more than a non-believer EVER could, by our conduct. The way we talk to others, the way we do business, the way we live our lives...Instead of concentrating on these fundamental issues - here we are - oh no some 'kafir' may or may not have said something insulting...

'DEATH TO THEM! HOW DARE THEY?!??!?'
This is a great post. Agree with you. We need more people like you, unfortunately we are inundated with bigots and all they know is kill kill kill and nothing else. The blasphemy law is detestable piece of legislation, the sooner we get rid of it the sooner people can live in a more just world.

What a shame !judges want to be relieved from the case to save their lives..this is what I expected
It is this reason why people of Pakistan dont trust judiciary and the bloody civil Incompetent Govt.

If godforbid it She gets hanged, All the blame will go on Judiciary, govt and the morally bankrupt society of Pakistan
