your remark in the other thread about that vile propaganda film "the dictator" was so true... the film was released in the middle of 2012 by which time possibly 120,000+ libyans had been killed by terrorists and nato rockets in the most horrendous ways (
:: www.uruknet.info :: informazione dal medio oriente :: information from middle east :: [vs-1] )... it would only be psychopaths who would make that film.
not just unite muslims but every progressive movement and person in the world... the "jamahiriya" theory is also called "the third universal theory" and written in the green book... there are editions in other languages too, i know of german, spanish and russian editions.
you should read about the libyan project called "mathaba" which was a internationalist project to spread the jamahiriya ideology and unite progressives under a common grouping... this (
Al Mathaba / Anti-Imperialism Center (AIC) ) is one info about it but from a private american intel organization and this (
THE WORLD MATHABA ) is from a green movement source ( "green movement" means the transnational people's movement that seeks to establish the jamahiriya theory in the world ).
there are a few references on google books too.
hugo chavez i believe studied the "green book" and some years before his death in 2012, he started the process to reconfigure venezuela into the direct-democray decentralized communes that was similar to libya but with venezeulan flavor...

venezuela, the second jamahiriya, one might say.
yes, "gold dinar" was one of the reasons for the 2011 invasion... nato couldn't allow the usa dollar to be undermined.
though people generally say that "gold dinar" was for muslim countries and non-muslim of the african countries, it was also envisaged as something that would replace the usa dollar at some point... in 2009, there was a meeting between libyan jamahiriya, russia, china, malaysia and i presume other countries too... it was about adoption of "gold dinar" as inter-trade currency... but no decision was taken because of differences on how should the new currency look like... russia wanted it to be physical currency and libya wanted it to be digital... later, russia, china and malaysia withdrew from the project for individual reasons... a tragedy, but libya kept talking about the currency.
some of the "rebels" were indeed libyan and i can distinguish three types of these...
1. those of the former lifg terrorist group who had been fighting against the jamahiriya system since the 80's and had in the 2000's merged with qaeda... their leader was abdul-hakim belhaj who after nato had conquered tripoli in october 2011 was appointed occupied libya's defense minister... now, this fellow was also connected with the syria war and his connections with erdogan's government in turkey i have made references about in previous posts, so you can find those via pdf search facility (
Search ).
2. a few people in libya ( citizens ) were of the reactionary, mullah sort and based mainly in benghazi city where the entire drama started... these were the people about whom gaddafi said in a 2011 speech that they wouldn't be happy even if they were given 10-room houses... they were anti-progressives who wanted mosques and not free education and medicine, they wanted the ladies to be covered up and not be free... their minds were numbed by the brain-wash of mullah filthy words... they didn't want freedom for libyans but oppression... they were a bunch easily manipulatable by cia and i suppose were supporters of the "muslim" brotherhood group ( ikhwaan ul "muslimeen" ).
3. exiles in western countries... these people were either direct those exiled by the jamahiriya for anti-revolution activities or were children of exiles or escapes after the 1969 revolution... these people were of much help to western intelligence agencies... these people either supported the rule of the pre-1969-revolution libyan king, idris, or directly supported the reactionary groups ( lifg, qaeda, "muslim" brotherhood ).
the remainder of the rebels ( thousands ) were from all over the world, from indonesia to belgium... i had read in 2011 a report that spoke of usa airforce planes in afghanistan taking plane-loads of taliban to the battle-fields of libya... other than plain terrorists, the "rebels" also consisted of nato-and-allies special forces - usa, belgium, qatar, saudi etc.
good question, and i can answer that with two points...
1. libyan jamahiriya was a revolutionary state that seeked to spread its revolution to other parts of the world but foolishly in recent years did not upgrade its self-defense equipment and also had dismantled its nuclear weapons weapons program... the libyan professional army did the best it could... one of muammar gaddafi's sons, khamis al-gaddafi, was the commander of a special forces unit called "khamis brigade" i think and it became famous for its activities... nato's media ran furious disinfo campaign against him in 2011 declaring him dead more than ten times just so that libyans lose hope and accept nato/terrorist rule... but yes, in middle of 2011, the dprk government ( north korea ) scolded the libyan government for having dismantled its nuclear weapons program... dprk said "see what happened??".
2. though there was technically a libyan army, libya was a place where all citizens had the right to carry arms and contribute in defending the state, but thing is libyan citizens had been living in much comfort for so many years that they were shell-shocked when the terrorism began in early 2011 and then nato invaded... but why nato had to kill 150,000+ libyans by the end of 2012 was because libyans put up stiff resistance ideologically and otherwise... this (
Mousa Ibrahim is Very Safe - Green Soldier in Tunisia - YouTube ) is a interview of a green resistance soldier ( former civilian i imagine ) from 2011, interviewed on skype by british journalist, morris herman... in the interview, the resistance soldier describes some of his actions.
at the moment, libyan people resist the nato-imposed governments made up of psychos from "muslim" brotherhood and qaeda... the resistance is not shown on mainstream media but below is some activity...
youtube vid so you will have to proxy i suppose - ((
manifestation pro kadhafi Aout 2015 Libye - YouTube ))
most libyans want jamahiriya back and one proof for this was a declaration as such in early 2014 i think by a representative of a collective of libyan tribes.
in early 2011, when nato and its puppets prepared a case in the uno security council and general assembly for invasion of libya, russian government disproved through its satellite imagery photos the nato claim that "muammar gaddafi's airforce was killing civilians, including women and children".
but truly a great mistake by russia by not intervening militarily... some people said that if russia had helped the jamahiriya militarily, russia wouldn't have seen the ukraine crisis later.
i am sure russia government regrets its paralysis in 2011.
yes, these are people who don't have the courage to question wrong systems or to improve the better systems.
