To be honest, Iran considered Gadaffi as a double faced person. He was not that kind of leader we could share our long term goals (as there was a chance that he could betray us to the West) with neither he had the (intellectual) capacity to understand.
Like i said before, every dictatorship has its expiry date. The expiration date of Gadafis regime was in 2011.

Yeah, actually as he was getting older, his brain way going haywire. In 1980's, he was younger and could think more clearly as well as in 1970's when he was helping Pakistan. But time took its toll on him and by the end he was wearing strange clothes and doing strange things. Maybe he had go Alzheimer or something. But he decided to become pro-western all of a sudden. I agree China looked after it's allies but Gaddafi son embraced the west, he should have bought weapons from china while he had time.

He also taught his father to piss China off by meeting with those Taiwanese separatists.

He can embrace the West as long as he remains neutral friendly with China, but he didn't, instead he chose to become hostile with China.

It was too late. Complex weapons like anti-ship cruise missiles and air defense systems need years of training for the operators to become so good with those systems to use it in war. You can not just bring in these kind of hi-tech system and suddenly expect to win a war against NATO.
