Liberal days of Pakistan's state television PTV in 1970s

So I came across this rare video of singer Alamgir with a guest turkish singer Nazi that was telecast on PTV during 1975, I never thought that PTV was so liberal in those old days because I never saw any such thing on PTV during the decades of 80s or 90s. It seems like pakistan television was quite liberal untl late 1970s.

These two also performed on this song in many cities of pakistan including karachi, lahore, islamabad and peshawar in 1970s.

Stupidness is NOT called liberalness which is unfortunately the case these days in pakistan. There is a level of decency that is associated with "liberalness" in western countries. So do you think prostitutes dancing erotically on stage dramas is some kind of liberalness, no friend it is not. There is only cultural degradation of pakistan that is taking place on television these days.

Stupidness is NOT called liberalness which is unfortunately the case these days in pakistan. There is a level of decency that is associated with "liberalness" in western countries. So do you think prostitutes dancing erotically on stage dramas is some kind of liberalness, no friend it is not. There is only cultural degradation of pakistan that is taking place on television these days.

You are talking about media as a whole including karachi based private TV channels. My post is only about Pakistan state TV channel that is PTV whose policy always reflected the policy of the government of Pakistan which seems to have allowed quite open minded liberal programming on state-run PTV until late 70s.

These are private TV channels of karachi, they should not be brought into discussion when we talk about state-run pakistani official TV channel PTV whose policy was and is always defined by the government of pakistan. Privately even **** has always been available since last 50 years or more but that was not provided by government of pakistan but rather by private players. The same way these private players are now running private channels from karachi and showing immoral stuff which has nothing to do with being liberal or open mined.
