Pakistan and Iran are 2 powerful Islamic states, they must sign a defence treaty so if one state gets attacked then its a attack on both. Just a simple defence treaty, nothing to do with fighting wars in other lands etc but just for protection from foreign invasions, separatism, terrorism.
I'm going to disagree with this. Pakistan does not need a defense treaty with Iran.
Despite peace overtures, Iran has backstabbed Pakistan. They support the Baloch militants, attacks in Balochistan, with the aim of
preventing Gwadar from succeeding against Chabahar and to lure Chinese investment. They hosted Kulbhushan and many more R&AW agents.
What
Pakistan needs is to pull itself together and focus inwards on strengthening its economy, education system, internal security, institutions, and even the military.
How can the military be strengthened? By reforming it through
weakening the COAS role so Pakistan doesn't become a one-man-rule banana republic and instead becomes a powerful modern military.
Removing ISI from military control and splitting it into two agencies, one for internal security, another external security.
Both are civilian led.
The US does not have a COAS that controls the military, but acts as an advisor instead. The US has the CIA for external and FBI for internal, both of which are civilian led.
The American system works whereas Pakistan is a lawless banana republic where anyone or anything can be blown up at any time.
Stop begging other countries or even expatriates.
Stop looking for messiahs or heroes to save you. Stop looking for shortcuts.
You can only depend on yourselves and no one else. China, GCC, US, EU will not help. This dependency on others mentality is the reason why Pakistan is garbage dump. Pakistanis keep expecting others to solve their problems.
