Shimoga: A suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist was nabbed from here by the state CID on Saturday.

Reports said the suspect hailed from Kannur.


It is believed that the suspect was planning to carry out a big strike, incuding possibly targeting a leading political figure in the state.




Kerala is a hotbed of terror which needs to be kept in check.

Officials of the intelligence wing said that LeT modules in the state had been raising huge money not only through criminal activities like dacoity and robbery but also by anchoring deals in real estate and other business.

"There had been a notion that terror-modules were bringing in money from abroad, mainly from Gulf countries, to fund their activities. As per the new findings, LeT activists had been conducting a series of fund-raising operations from 2000 in various parts of the country as per the directive of the LeT core command wing in Pakistan. The wing directed the modules to raise money locally as flow of funds from abroad could be easily tracked," the officials said.


Must give credit to the Kerala police leading the investigation into terror activities, let's hope this guy spills the beans and more persons are caught.

There is a Commando Wing of NSG which operates under kerala police. Its ill occupied too. There certainly isnt any NSG hubs in kerala.
Only hopes during a terror strike in kerala are:
1.Naval Academy in ezhimala,cochin.- we can expect Marcos or naval commandoes. But cochin is 300+ km from capital Trivandrum.

All assets of strategic importance like the brahmos aerospace,southern air command are well guarded.

Besides, Trivandrum also has the presence of SpARk,Mech,Acetophenol,Marcos,Nakki etc who can go kabooom!

If rumors has to be believed the Mumbai attackers also looked on the idea of attacking Cochin bcs it lies on the same path as that of Mumbai. With the amount of obsolete weapons Kerala police is carrying, that would have been an even bigger disaster.

Even our enemies would not say that Muslims are being discriminated against in Kerala. On the contrary they are a powerful group..socially, economically & politically..still cannot understand how organizations like PF attract followers. Its also a shame that of all the 140 million Muslims in India, only Kerala Muslims was caught and killed in Kashmir fighting for the militants.This calls for serious investigation.

Trivandrum has CRPF, RAF platoon with CRPF commando too. Not sure about army Commando which has division in Pangode, Trivandrum.
IAF southern HQ is Trivandrum and there is enough army personal in trivandrum to take over security in case of emergency.

I don't know about that but I have met quite a few(I live in Middle East) who have 'Islam first' mindset.

I don't know about that but I have met quite a few(I live in Middle East) who have 'Islam first' mindset.

Arabic influence. This can be explained by the increasing number of burqas and even niqabs in Kerala.
