- Thanks to the enormous duties by the Government and it is not produced here so have to be imported with huge tax.The only reason Civic 1.8 is cheap because it's produced here.Santro i would not buy 2+year old civic.It'll be really tough to be find a good one.Usually Civics are heavily abused by the owners.

Actually Santro, I can guess how these problems are.
One ahand, you wanna ride something hot but dont wanna spend too much.

(I can say cause we were through these problems, a lot more toughter)

Alhamdullah, my dad got a pay rise and things are settling a little bit (And now inflation is gonna booooooooom up as saudi king has given 15% rise to all saudis)

So I opt for buying a 07-08 model.
They wont be a bit cheaper, but they are still as good as new.

You maybe able to manage the finance too, and they still have the latest features, like a good FM, A/C and stuff.
Lease from the company who also maintainces it.

My dad has got a 08 model (right when the model was released in late 07 ) and it costs him only his 'transportation allowance'. That is, his company pays the 1500-2000 SR for him! The company from which it is leased is a Rent a Car company, a huge network called "Budget".

Every single dent is repaired free of cost and every is on their hands financially.
So if you can find someone like this in Pakistan then too good (not financially )

And dont forget you will sick with the car for 5-7 years, so you need to have enough capital for payments and satisfication with the car too!

If I stick to the financing part of your transaction, some thoughts:

Car dealers love to talk about how much you will pay per month instead of overall cost. Even here in the US, this is the 1st question they ask, 'how much can you pay per month'?

When the mnthly payment changes over the years, this is just a method for the finance co. to con you on the interest. You need to ask them, what is my rate of interest, and then use Excel or a financial calculator to see what they are actually charging you. Their other trick is to work out a loan of , say $100 and then ask you for the 1st 2 payments of $20 immediately. So what did they actually lend you today? $60! Yet Interest is calculated of $100.

what are the options?? new,used, refurbished etc.
and no I dont want the older corolla's.. damn things are death traps.
