Harassment by ISI, media’s suspicious activities and missing persons:

Pasha accepted that agency’s record was not without blemish, saying many ‘decent people’ had been harmed by some of its errors. But the ISI learned from experiences, he said, and reformed itself through ‘change to its mindset, culture and methodology’. But he also warned that those who still criticise and fear from the ISI are people ‘who should fear the ISI’ as they more often than not were working against the national interest

@nuclearpak @Argus Panoptes ISI and MI have not shun their heavy-handedness. Picking up people, and if they are found in agency custody through courts, they are not letting family members visit them and than in the end they will regret they harmed decent people.

Please do not be taken in by this feigned contriteness. The ISI and the PA leadership regret nothing, and have learnt nothing from their abuses and fiascos. They know that this storm will die down soon as our nation is known to forget inconvenient truths easily.

And to that end they have nailed in the coffin for Pakistan. Now from this, as I said.. they may derive other states and nations based on convenience.

This is one BIG mess...some of it justified, some not.

Every missing person isn't a criminal, neither is every missing person a innocent.

Sorry to Quote Indian Iaw but suits here

"Number of criminals can escape but not single innocent should not be convicted"

To correct your analogy Sir, there is no coffin for Pakistan. Only a tattered body bag.

NONE of it is justified. IF any one of the missing is being detained for criminal acts, then due process must still be followed. Infinite detention without recourse to a competent court of law, whether civil or martial, is simply WRONG.

Interesting thing is Lawyer of Military Intelligence mentioning "Black dictionary" which justifies their acts to pick or hold person as long as they want

Yes, that must be the dictionary that defines the Constitution as "just a piece of paper, to be used as toilet paper when needed".

Yup...and that 'due process' is the exact reason why LeJ commanders on death row for 4 years are still there and planning attacks, 'due process' is the exact reason why Musharraf is being tried for lal Masjid, 'due process' is the exact reason why a guy was captured 3 times within 6 months and let go.

Let's keep on living in our utopian world with all our so wonderful ideals and morals and 'due processes' and see the thugs run riot.

I sometimes wonder if a Pakistani Guantanamo bay would do us good.

Those reasons that you mention are true, but should be used to IMPROVE the due process, not get rid of it.

Forget the utopian world, how is the real world working out for us?

Atleast when agency pick someone up, they should tell his family after few days or weeks, so family don't develop grudges against respective agency or pakistan. All persons mentioned in news item, there whereabouts were only known when concerned families approached hight/supreme courts

Jab zal.eel ho kar batana hai hum banda uthaya hai to sharafat say pehlay kio nai bata dayty families ko takay media aur supreme court may negative publicity aur zal.eel honay say bach sakay?

Touseef Ali from Rawalpindi: Major Haider of MI is allegedly involved. A intel operative name disclosed in public and being scrutinized.

Umar Bakht and Umar Hayat: Inspector Amir of ISI picked them up

Recklessness and arrogance causes their cover to be blown in public

Have I told you the story of a person being presumed as a missing person and later being found out to be hiding in the mountains doing Jihad?

The people who are ID'ed are returned within days, and families are told on most occasions.

Look, I am not justifying this picking of persons, but you have also got to understand that this isn't all that random. There is a legitimate reason that someone is picked up, the agencies don't do it for fun. We are just in a state of dynamic war. Things aren't all that ideal.

Somebody mentioned somewhere else that we should go to UNSC over the OBL raid. Who are we kidding? People really think that UNSC is the just and fair organization which gives justice? In an ideal world yeah. But we aren't in an ideal world.
