Five militants were believed killed until Saturday morning in an ongoing encounter at Kilora village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Police and army personnel had launched a joint operation after receiving a tip-off on militant presence in the village on Friday evening. A militant killed later that night was identified as Lashkar commander Umar Malik.

Four other fighters were killed in the hours that followed, taking the total count to five. Confirming this, Army spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia said: “Weapons have been recovered from the encounter site and the operation is still underway.”

In another incident, two local militants and a soldier were killed in a joint operation launched by Army and police personnel in north Kashmir’s Sopore area on Friday. Two more militants were killed in Kupwara the previous day.

Killing innocent kids and giving them labels won't change a thing in Kashmir and be scared of the day when Allah brings his justice to those poor and helpless people.
