Large reserves of crude oil found in Sindh

.
For the record, according to the latest info available to me; as of 2013 the three world’s largest oil producers were:

USA 12.34-million barrels per day (Vs demand of 19-million bbl. per day)

Saudi Arabia 11.70-million barrels per day

Russia 10.76-million barrels per day.

Other top producers being:

China 4.5-million bbl. (demand 10-million bbl.), Canada 4.1-million bbl., UAE 3.4- million bbl., Iran 3.2-million bbl., Iraq 3.1 million bbl., Mexico 2.9-million bbl., Kuwait 2.8-million bbl., Brazil 2.7-million bbl., Venezuela 2.7-million bbl., Nigeria 2.4-million bbl. & Qatar 2.1-million bbl. per day.

India produced about 980 K bbl. per day against demand of 3.5-million bbl. per day. Pakistan produced 85 K bbl. per day against demand of 455 K bbl. per day.

Please note that production represents crude & condensate & demand include products import. Also data is only a good approximation and may differ slightly in different publications, but for the comparison purposes, it is correct.

Iran production has come down to 1.3 million bpd after sanctions. Pak now produces 100k bpd.

@ Niaz and Rest of Oil well Drilling Professionals,

Do you guys have any Ideas regarding current shell gas drilling in the US.

I used to supply Oil Grade FHG Guar gum Powder for slurry primarily to Haliburton, Megnablend & Optiblends in the US,
& whetherford in the ME. But all of sudden demand for the same almost evaporated. Mine sources are saying that companies are no more drilling new wells.

Wants to know your thoughts.

Do let me know if you guys are looking for such product.

Regards,
Sputnik

Only use of Guar Gum other than in the Food industry that I am aware of is in the Hydraulic Fracturing or Fracking as it is commonly called. Recent sharp drop in the oil prices; engineered by Saudi Arabia because they saw Shale Oil & Gas as a direct threat to their market; has sevely affected Fracking industry. India produces approx. 80% of the world Guar gum. It is therefore understandable that Indian exporters would suffer the most.

It is misleading to use the word "large" to describe a field that will produce a 1000 barrels of oil a day. Typical fields in major producing region of the world produce 100s of thousands of barrels a day. Still any oil is better than none at all.

What Pakistan should really focus on is its abundance of hydro and solar potential. Proper harnessing of these would help propel economic growth in Pakistan.

i think its good that we arent using our oil reserves right now, albeit for all the bad reasons (not because our politicians have a vision). let ME run out of oil, then we should start drilling out oil from our reserves and sell it to the world and become filthy rich. of course, this assumes that we have honest and sincere politicians

It also assumes that you have enough oil reserves.......

Hon Sir,

You would note that I quoted data for 2013. No doubt Iran's production level is down but not to 1.3-million barrels per day. This must be the export figure. Understand Iran exports are down to just over 1-million bbl per day. Exact figure unknown since most export are in the vessels owned by NITC.

Iran has refining capacity of close to 1.5 million barrels per day. The crude feed of the refineries should also be counted in the production figures. For the record, major refineries of Iran per my info are:

Abadan Refinery (450 K bpd), Bandar Abbas Refinery (335 K bpd), Isfahan Refinery (265 K bpd), Tehran Refinery (225 K bpd), Arak Refinery (150 K bpd) and Tabriz Refinery (110 K BPD). Additionally there are also small refineries located at Shiraz, Lavan Island & at Kermanshah.

According to the best of my knowledge, Iran is currently producing about 2.5- million bbl. per day. However you are welcome to form your own opinion.

Large Gold and Copper reserves recently discovered in Pakistan.
Saindak Copper Gold Project - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For the record Sandak deposits were discovered in the 1970's; that is more than 40 years ago.

Pakistan Mineral Resource Development office was then located in the Dawood Centre (same building as the Esso Office), where I was working at that time. I used to meet some of the guys working there during lunch at the Gymkhana, located just across the road.

As usual it took a long time to develop. Thar coal is going the same way. It was discovered in 1991, nearly 25 years ago, where are the benefits? Understand Riko diq deposits were originally discovered in 1978!!! For whatever reason, no sign of development either.

Regret to say that it is the story of Pakistan, all talk & little action. Yes in the long run something will be done, but in the long run all of us would be dead as well.

Sir, you've just rubbed salt on my wounds.

Have they been mined or are political meetings still going on?

No yaar, actually a big snake is sitting on that treasure. We've to deal with it first.

You know where there's gold there're troubles. Remember The Hobbit and its dragon.

'at your service' : )
