Express News screengrab of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visiting the 10-year-old boy at the hospital.

GUJRAT: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited a 10-year-old boy, who was allegedly tortured by a landlord in Gujrat, at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital, and ordered IG Punjab to investigate the incident immediately, Express News reported on Friday.

On July 15, a landlord, identified as Ghulam Mustafa, had allegedly beat up the boy, burnt him with scalding hot water and chopped off his arms, following a dispute with the victim’s father over electricity theft in Gujrat.

Upset about the delay in the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the culprit, the Punjab chief minister reprimanded police officials.

Shahbaz further dismissed the concerned ASP, DSP and medical superintendent of the hospital.

Mustafa – who was arrested during a police raid – was also presented before anti-terrorism court today and sent on a 10-day physical remand.

Referring to the incident, Mustafa in court said that “he did not do it intentionally and it was mistake”.

The landlord, after beating the boy, took him to a private hospital on Bhambar Road, where he tried to hush up the crime. He had also donated blood for the boy.

However, as the father of the boy found out about his son’s condition, he had tried to file an FIR against the landlord in the Cantt Gujrat police station. He had told The Express Tribune that SHO Shaukat Taupa said he could not file a case without a medical report.

After the Punjab chief minister took notice of the incident and ordered a report from top police officials, the police had finally filed a case; they had not requested a medical certificate in this case.

you mocking us? what difference has he made any of the previous notices he took?

Horrific, to go through the process of cutting a childs arms, you have to be one sick person to do that.

He could have picked anything to inflict leverage, why did he have to go near the child?

This man deserves death.

.
He will get away with it. As we know Pakistani rules themselves have the same mentality. They are all ready starving and killing 95% of Pakistanis. This 5% must be brought to justice.

.
Landlords or wadairas are strong because of corrupt politicians, because political parties are filed with landlords & wadairas, who only work for personal interests.

I am sure if a back ground is run on this bastard land lord for surely we will find a political link.

.
Since the time of the bigot Zia, when there were public floggings, things such as compassion and human tolerance have disappeared from a section of Pakistani society. This is a crime against humanity. Can you imagine cutting of both hands of a child because his father refuses to pay you Rs 5,000/?

This is out and out savagery. Are such persons really worthy of being called human beings?

I saw this news on TV yesterday and my heart just stopped. And at the end the news reporters were urging people to donate to this family.

After some time I got to thinking, why, did this happen in the first place? ¥ one simple answer is, slavery. The big landlords regard the people they rule as slaves and their property and can do whatever they want to them.

An emotional response would be to chop off this evil man's arms, too. But realistically it's not gonna happen. His sentence probably won't be that long either, he'll get out in a few and wreck havoc on more people.

How about the govt confiscate his lands and properties and transfer everything to this poor boy and his family. They can use this evil persons money to live comfortably and send their boy abroad for artifical arms. This way they also won't depend on other people's pity and donations.

Thats realistic, right? And proper justice. Take every ruppee he owns and give it to this boy. Then do this to every Jagirdaar in Pakistan. Who's with me on this?
