ye mian ji ki shaan mein bakwas thi ya koi daleel wali baat thi? agar iss mein ghaplay nahi to iss ki files kuyn aag mein jaal gai hain? jahan per files jaal jain to wahan ye daleel kaafi hai ke choor daku apne bachao ke liye wardat kar gay hain.

yani subsidy ko defend karna jaise aik dost ne kaha ke pooray punjab se tax lagay jai ga in 4 system per. aik ticket ki kemat aur dosra mazeed tax ke paise.

The route of the Orange Line Metro train can make it a failure...
For a metro train to succeed with high utility and high traffic.

It need to pass through.
- Big colleges and schools.
- Universities and offices, corporate and multi nationals companies, govt. offices.
- Shopping areas, shopping plazas, but the traffic here is not on a daily basis unlike in offices.
-Big hospitals, govt. and private.

This routes doesn't look very viable, as the start at Dera Gujjran and many areas are very low income areas, decrepit poor housing...seems it was a political strategy to get more votes from the low income areas...here people runs small shops, small vendors and all that, they don't travel to the city center or Ali Town or Chaubargi/GPO, UET etc. Hope though it will succeed.

It was nothing but a purely political move, it would have looked good and been useful had it been run through the areas of canal bank road, gulberg, cantt etc.
That too underground and on the ground. This was just to gain votes, nothing else, a big failure this has been

If they have selected this orange line metro route by just looking at the high population clusters of Dera Gujjran Lahore and other old city areas near Shalimar Garden with very high density population, the planners here are in for a surprise...high population density doesn't mean it will generate high traffic for the Orange metro...as most of the people in these areas don't travel daily to say colleges, offices and shopping areas.

So hope the demographics of people like office going, college and university going people, markets and shopping patterns must have been read...if not it will be a huge failure.

You are right about Canal bank, Gulberg, Cantt, and can add Mall, Johar Town, Model Town, Jail rd, Ferozpur rd...and other areas, they are planned for other routes like purple and blue lines, green lines...(above map)

Absolutely unequivocally true, nothing will be a bigger disappointment than this, already starting to see cheap adverts and love stories on the orange line pillars now haha, to build it above the ground was stupid, utterly stupid, they should take inspiration from london and prague, never seen anything like it, beautiful to say the least..

Those who made it wanted people to look at and know who made it as it would always be visible to everyone both who use it and those who travel on the roads along its path. Had they made it underground that effect wouldn't have been achieved. Otherwise there was an existing feasibility study made During Musharraf Era existed for an Underground System which ADB was willing to finance at a much lower Borrowing rate.
