Poor thing. Don't cry mate. LOL!

.This is exactly why indian and Chinese brands have feared entering the US market.

A lot of companies have taken a good throttling in the US market and left. Thumbs up to the Japanese and Germans for showing how it's done correctly (and Sweden too up until a few years ago, korea trying to stay relevant)

Many British, French, and Italian companies have come and gone or are still here with models that don't break the top 30.

Have to agree with you on that one. Look at how fiat was selling the 124 back in the late 70's and left. Now it's back with the new Cinquecento which is modern however I think this time they got lucky because the hybrid revolution is on full-bore and people might be interested in it as a commuter. But a lot of people are scared of its size and won't buy it. The Prius hybrid based on the Corolla is the smallest size people will buy in larger numbers.

The BMW based Mini is not a smashing success either.

Its personal vehicle, mate. Americans don't just have 1 car, too. Many have 2 cars; its common to have 1 vehicle for everyday use (for work) and another car for family use.

I don't think a person living in Europe has any idea of what level of car ownership this country has. Living in SoCal - which IMHO is the car culture capital of the US - I can vouch for this. Every family member needs one car so about two or four. Plus there could be one being worked on in the garage as a 'hobby' restoration project.

Like families here don't have 2 cars..... :rolleyes1:

And remember I said minimum size. Mercedes E classes are as ubiquitous around here with the largest market for BMW 7 series and Merc S class as common as your VW Jettas and Golfs over there.

Can you provide some stats/sources to go with this?

They have been trying to sell the fiat 500 around here - even with lots of marketing tricks they can't move this model out of the showroom to the street. Don't see a lot of these on the road yet. Too small and a 'toy' is what people call it.

Same with yaris. Some car magazine actually recommended people not to buy a Yaris if I remember correctly because of safety reasons. Flimsy piece of you know what.

Not Fiat 500. I meant more like Golf/Focus class being more prominent now.

I hope they do sell Ladas' in the U.S. I'd like to crush one with my Wrangler.

Russia needs to strengthen its auto industry. They have relied too long on euro automakers. Its time the eurotrash bleed out. Bring their auto industry to its knees with sanctions and your own industry. These animals deserve no less.

Well, kinda The Myth was sollely debunked (no reliable sources of the saying, or is there?)

I think you need to come over here to understand the scale of the cars.
This is the size of the #1 vehicle sold in the USA

The #2 vehicle is just as big.

Im sure Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and BMW are shivering out of fear that all the rich guys wont buy their cars anymore and skip to a Lada Vesta. I mean who wants a Porsche if you can have Lada?

Ahahahah....true talk.
Sorry but Russia and China make crappy cars. They still need decades to catch up with western and Japanese auto makers. But this is a good start though. :D
