I agree with you. But I also am curious about the outcome if every monument in history had been subjected to this scrutiny. What would we have inherited then? A lot of training centres instead of the likes of Taj Mahal, Brihadeeshwara Temple etc perhaps?

Moreover, Organizations like ISKCON run on the finances of their Bhaktagann. Who are we to dispute what they do with their money? Capitalism 101.

u cannot account for monuments built up in middle ages to this thing.
we have too many issues here to be floundering money on temples,gurudwaras,masjids,churches..............whatever it may be.

its a sheer waste of money and if a god exists.........he wouldn't be too proud either .trust me

Its private money. You donot get to decide what gives more satisfaction to the people building it.

You are free to criticize the Government over how it spends money. You are not however to tell me how I should spend my money.

If God existed, he/she/it wouldn't be proud of a lot of other things, and such grandiose monuments would have been the least of his/her/it's concerns.

But every Organization has a defined purpose. I'd be mad as hell if our Government had taken up this project, as this is none of it's concern. I'm not too perturbed with ISKCON building another temple. But it's up to it's followers to see and question where their money is being spent.

To those constructing the temple, it may bring unmeasurable happiness, or they may have a model that enriches their lives. Thats for them to decide.

A large part of India's problem is that everyone seems to think they know best what others should do.

You are completely free to decide how you wish to spend your money. Spend it as you wish in whichever way it brings you happiness - which maybe building a hospital or a library or whatever.

Well from an economical point of view, this temple would be very good for the region since he will encourage a lot of religious tourism which would create jobs, help local businesses. Besides, this is a private project not a government one. So all the funds are from people who want their money to be spent on this project, maybe they would not spend it on some training institute.

While you are at it, also try and tell that to the Ambanis who built the Antilla for a Billion dollars, that they could have built a few hundred Training Centres with that money. In fact, if they plug in half their wealth into our defence industry, all our problems there will be solved, innit?

The people spending money on this want to spend money here. It is their money, that they have earned in their lives. They have the right to decide what to do with it.

When you earn, you are free to open whatever you want with it provided its legal. But please dont impose your self-righteousness on what others should do with what they earn.
