North Korea's new young leader, Kim Jong-un, told a Chinese official that his government is focused on "developing the economy and improving people's livelihoods," China's official news agency reported late on Thursday.

Kim's comments to the visiting Chinese official, Wang Jiarui, were the latest sign that the new young leader aims to tackle North Korea's decaying economy, which has been poorly managed under the military-first government system.

Kim's comments in a meeting in Pyongyang broke no new policy ground, but analysts and diplomatic sources in China and South Korea expect Kim to probably embark on an economic reform package soon.

Experts in Beijing say their government fears that economic malaise in North Korea could give way to damaging instability and ******** of refugees across the border in China, and for decades Chinese leaders have nudged Pyongyang to draw lessons from their route to market economic reform.

I'm hoping the young leader would take pride on the four Olympic gold medals, his athletes worked so hard for, and reciprocates the people with loving and caring and initiates economic reforms.

Korean usually exaggerate the fact but do nothing. I have not seen Kim Jong-un do anything significant in reality.

i would rather believe a rumor that animals have started speaking than this idiot. bcoz of him and his late fathers millions of north korean are suffering.the party is full of propaganda.i once saw a natgeo documentary about NK. in that episode i saw many are suffering from cataract and other eye disorder bcoz of absence of Vit A. in their food. the ruling class enjoy all the luxury while the rest suffer. not every communist can be like Lennin or Karl Marx.
