In the name Of Allah (swt) the most benfecient the most merciful , peace and blessings be Upon the Noble Messenger , a mercy for the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and all creation, the liberator of slaves the shield of the widows and the Guardian of the orphans, And upon his holy Household, and his virteous Companions.
Asalam alikum , I pray all of you are in the best of health and iman. Having joined this forum, i thought what should be My next active participation and my first thread after my intro, so I thought because We talk alot about military history here so why not about arguebly one of the greatest Generals in Military history, the Companion of the prophet hasret khalid ibn waleed (ra).
It is the custom of nations and peoples that there great leaders and heroes are always remembered for their extraordinary achievments and unflintching determination and courage and valour that simply knows no grounds. We as a Ummah are blessed with such a vast and blissful history that at times it seems unbelievable yet so true and known in the cannons of the history of the world that we need not rely upon legend. Such was the Upbringing the tution and leadership of the holy Prophet (sawws) that his companions Made a mark in the history of mankind and there achievments have become a legacy in there own right.
Alot can be said about hasrat Khalid yet a mere few posts is not suffecient to summarise such a valient hero who was not only a great man, but a warrior of the highest repute and a genral like no comparison, at the same time a great intellectual, who had many many innovations in the art of war that even today analysts are buffled as to how he pulled it off when at times with just 60 men or at others a few hundred defeated thousands in battle, One man who sent the two of the greatest empires of the past into the rubble of the earth namely the roaman empire and the persian. Here I would like to narrate his last moments as a whole book is needed for his biography but before I begin to summarise a brief aspect of his life I qoute what said the first caliph of islam sayyiduna abu bakr upon hasret khalid's destruction of the persian empire. A grand celbration was held in medina.
" mubarak ho ( people of medina ) tumhareh sher nain faras keh shero ko zer kar diya" Qouted from ref zaid hamid. who takes it from al bidaya wa al nihaya
O Quraish ! Your lion has overcome the lions of persia . Women can no longer bear sons like Khalid.
Edward gibbon said " The fiercest and most successful of the Arabian warriors." 19th century historian.
In his own words
"I am the noble warrior, I am the Sword of Allah, I am Khalid bin Al Waleed."
