Major Khaled Musharraf in '71 War

KM was the icon of the Liberation War. The MB youth worshiped him. Commissioned in 1957 he was an instructor at PMA. Later was sent for attachment with BOAR from where he returned to take over as BM 57 Bde, Dhaka. He emerged as the principal strategist in the War

Great Hero, Later killed by Major Zia's fraction. After 15 August these patriot officers out of thin air and by foreign provocation killed Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In return they got coup and counter coup. Killed themselves in thousands for no reason. Khaled Musharraf who was also behind Sheikh Mujib's assassination.

Khaled Musharraf wasn't behind Sheikh Mujib's assassination, in fact he was the one who led the coup to usurp the actual killers, Major Faruk and Major Dalim. He was the COGS at the time of Mujib's killing. After seizing the power, he arrested Ziaur Rahman, among many, who was installed as the COAS by Major Faruk and co. Khaled Musharraf was actually killed by the Shoiniks in a coup led by Col Taher. Ziaur Rahman was quite popular among the general Shoiniks which is why they were outraged after hearing about Zia's arrest. Anyway, all of them are true patriots who made our independence a reality.

'Col Jamil involved, Khaled Mosharraf key plotter' -

The men who killed Sheikh Mujib?

Very interesting, this is one of the best videos on how the campaign was carried out. Though I'd heard some descriptions, but that was hearsay, really. Got to even meet with some Muktijoddhas in BD during the 1985-2002 time-frame during visits there.

The only thing they are referring to is Mosharraf's silence which is nothing significant. However, it's true that there was a huge discontent among the military with Sheikh Mujib's rule. Anyway, Bangladeshi media would be the last thing you would rely on with regards to such controversial events.

Actually majority of the armed forces freedom fighter leaderships were behind Mujib's assassination directly, indirectly or turned blind eye. Pushed forward the young lads and they remained innocent.
Can be found from Dalim and KM's conversation during November coup of 1975, that he supported the 15th August assassination and as usual putting the blames on young officers. We dont have other independent sources to confirm.

What do you mean? It’s not my doing. Believe you me Dalim it is their’s doing, these young officers. They think Zia can’t deliver. They also think he will do nothing to achieve the goals of the 15th August revolution at the same time he is also totally incapable to protect the interest of the armed forces. Therefore, they want a change.
WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SITE OF MAJORDALIM

Inspirational to say the least, Khaled Musharraf was a tactical leader. It was funny when he said "I will kill them from the left, right and behind", he was suggesting killing them was child's play. Unfortunately the bulk of youth today are not cut from the same cloth. All wannabe Shah Ru Khans.

Great video on a brave military commander.

Pity that he was killed the way he was....he seems to be perfect material to head Bangladesh military after 1971 for a good long time.

Could be... as I said the Army was never satisfied with Sheikh Mujib's rule. But the most intriguing part is the role of Rokkhi Bahini... where were they at that time?

1.JRB's chief was away in Spain or somewhere. But the boss of the boss Tofayel was very much in Dhaka but did nothing. Questions have been asked about his mysterious role. Upon instruction from SM, Tofayel was briefed by the DMI about disgruntled BA officers planning a coup. Tofayel was at that time head of national security.
2. SM's personal security was looked after by RAW. If RAW had not withdrawn that coverage for the CIA coup to roll, things might have been different.
