Islamabad: A Karachi-based port worker, who had seen 10 LeT terrorists leaving in a boat hours before the brazen Mumbai terror attacks of 2008, was cross-examined in a Pakistani anti-terrorism court on Wednesday. The hearing, held at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi for security reasons, went on for over five hours during which defence lawyers cross-examined Mohammad Saifullah Khan.

“One witness was cross-examined by the defence today. He was one of two witnesses who had seen the men leave the (Karachi) port in a boat,” Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhury Mohammed Azhar told PTI. “The cross-examination will continue tomorrow,” he said. The Islamabad-based anti-terrorism court is conducting the trial of seven suspects, including Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, charged with planning, financing and executing the attacks in India’s financial hub that killed 166 people. The 10 LeT members who carried out the attacks sailed to Mumbai from Karachi after training in waters off the Pakistani port city. Azhar said the prosecution objected to some questions asked by the defence lawyers as they were illegal. The defence sought to question the witness about Amjad Khan, another port worker who is absconding, he said. Amjad Khan had obtained a “port clearance certificate” for Al-Hussaini, one of the fishing boats used by the terrorists. Defence lawyer Riaz Akram Cheema claimed, “The witness was cross-examined and he could not answer many of our questions.” Judge Atiqur Rehman adjourned the hearing till Thursday, when another witness will also be examined. The statements of the witnesses were recorded earlier. India recently handed over documents running into nearly 600 pages for use in the trial here so that prosecutors can proceed against the seven accused. The documents include a certified copy of the Indian Supreme Court’s judgement in the Mumbai case, summons to witnesses, and depositions by two doctors who conducted the autopsy of nine terrorists and the chief investigating officer who probed the case. Two other documents relate to proceedings of the Pakistani judicial commission that visited Mumbai last month and an application for producing articles recovered from the terrorists by the Pakistani senior public prosecutor, official sources said.

It's all a sham. No Pakistani lawyer or judge will stick his neck out to incarcerate the LeT terrorists for fear of reprisals from them and the ISI.

Exactly, Indians(me also) are banging their heads for nothing. They(Pakistanis) are basically saying to us that it's our job to protect ourselves. You do whatever you can to protect yourselves. Don't blame us, we will be asking for concrete evidence from you every times these kinds of things happen, which you will be never be able to show. Now do whatever you can do!!

The answer is ask RAW to do Tit-for-Tat. But they give a damn if a 10 times more person of their country gets killed by bomb than us. We make hulla gulla because we are a multiparty democracy and every opposition targets the ruling party. But they don't care as they have the bomb(nuclear) and ready to use it if we go for war.

So, the bottom line is that we have to live with the present condition where they will try to kill us and we shall try to kill them. That's it.

While its a step to even start the investigation in Pakistan i am not hopeful, their country lives in denial over every thing , pretty sure if you ask most Pakistani people they will thing RAnW was responsible for 26/11.

Indian False Flag Operations That Almost Led To Nuclear War – OpEd

By Khan A. Sufyan

July 19, 2013

On July 14, 2013 a former Under Secretary of India’s Ministry of Home Affairs Mr. RVS Mani, submitted a declaration to the country’s highest court, the Supreme Court of India, that both the 2001 terrorist attack on Indian Parliament and 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack were staged.

This alarming revelation by a senior serving Indian government official has brought to fore what many analysts stated earlier that these were classic false flag operations, deliberately initiated by Indian intelligence agencies aimed at achieving certain specific objectives. Both these incidents which India alleged that Pakistan was responsible of, almost led the two nuclear armed neighbours to the brink of a major regional conflict which could have resulted in a nuclear war. False flag operations are defined as covert operations designed to deceive the public and foreign governments in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by other entities, groups or nations than those who actually planned and executed them.

On the evening of December 13, 2001 while the Upper and Lower Houses of the Parliament were adjourned for the day, a car identified to be from the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs, containing five men armed with weapons and explosives was allowed unchecked to enter the compound housing the Parliament building in New Delhi. In the ensuing firefight, 12 people were killed including 5 gunmen and 18 others were injured. Hours after the attack the next morning, India’s Minister of Home Affairs Mr. LK Advani claimed, “we have received some clues about yesterday’s incident, which shows that a neighbouring country, and some terrorist organizations active there are behind it.” This was an indirect reference to Pakistan’s involvement.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to India was called to India’s Ministry of External Affairs the same day, and a strong demarche was launched. Within days, India ordered the biggest mobilization of its armed forces since the war of 1971, calling it Operation Parakaram (strength).

Pakistan was alarmed when it received information that elements of nuclear capable Prithvi missile groups were also mobilized and were operationally deployed behind Indian Strike Corps and the traditional Indian offensive zone in Indian Occupied Kashmir. The information also highlighted that the nuclear capable aircraft of Indian Air Force, dedicated to carryout nuclear strike, were also operationally activated and deployed. Pakistan vociferously denied the Indian charges, offering joint investigation of the incident, which was out-rightly rejected by India. Pakistan was left with no option but to mobilize its armed forces and thus ensued the longest eye ball to eye ball confrontation between the armed forces of two nuclear armed neighbours, lasting almost one year. The chances that this could have resulted in a nuclear exchange were indeed very real.

On the eventful and tragic night of November 26, 2008 India’s biggest city Mumbai, spread over an area of over 600 square kilometers and having a population of around 20 million was attacked by 10 terrorists. They created a terrorist mayhem in the city which lasted for 4 days from 26-29 November and resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 166 people and wounded over 300. Out of the 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai, 9 were killed and one was arrested. His name was Ajmal Kasab and he was identified to be from Pakistan. The attackers allegedly had inside support from within India which helped them to move around and commit acts of terror with relative ease. The attack generated a war hysteria in India against Pakistan.

The first serious indication of an imminent war between India and Pakistan was communicated by US Senator Mr. John McCain during a state lunch in Lahore, Pakistan. He conveyed a message from Indian Prime Mr. Minister Manmohan Singh to many present there, including Pakistan’s Prime Minister. The message was unequivocally explicit and threatening, “if Pakistan did not arrest those involved with the attacks, India would begin aerial attacks against Pakistan.”

This was followed by news from Indian and international media, indicating that Indian military operations against targets in Pakistan have been prepared awaiting the go-ahead. Around middle of December Indian fighter planes violated Pakistani air space which prompted Pakistan to respond with combat air patrols. On December 24, PK Barbora, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of India’s Western Air Command, told Indian media that, “India Air Force has earmarked 5,000 targets in Pakistan. But whether we will cross the LOC in Kashmir or the International Border to hit the enemy targets will have to be decided by the political leadership of the country.” On the same day, the Indian state government of Rajasthan bordering Pakistan, ordered residents of its border villages to be prepared for relocation.

Such threats emanating from India alarmed Pakistani government and it was forced to move some of its forces deployed on western front in support of US led operations in Afghanistan against terrorism, towards its eastern front against threat being generated by India. Worried about the escalating tension between two nuclear armed neighbours, the international community expressed its serious concern and endeavoured to encourage both India and Pakistan to de-escalate the tension ridden environment. The situation gradually de-escalated and avoided a probable war between India and Pakistan which could have spiraled in to a nuclear exchange.

There are many more such examples where state run Indian intelligence agencies routinely conduct false flag operations which result in numerous deaths and injuries. However, surprisingly the Indian media does not highlight such acts in the manner. A recent example of involvement in acts of terrorism by a senior Indian Military Intelligence officer Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Purohit is a case in point. He was involved in many acts of terrorism inside India which resulted in numerous deaths of Pakistani as well as Indian citizens. The acts perpetrated through his support were deliberately and purposely portrayed as the job of Indian Muslim terrorist groups.

His statements in the Indian courts clearly highlight that he kept his senior officers in the Military Intelligence Branch at Indian Army Headquarters duly informed about all his actions. This is a clear indication that the Indian Military Intelligence and Indian Army hierarchy is directly involved in planning and execution of such state sponsored acts of terrorism and cover these as false flag operations. And now, the former Under Secretary of the India’s Ministry of Home Affairs has also stated in front of India’s highest court, the Supreme Court of India that such actions are also a routine in other state intelligence agencies as well.

The conduct of such false flag operations by Indian state run intelligence agencies, raise many serious concerns. Probably emboldened by the perception that whatever India states against Pakistan or her neighbours with regards to acts of terrorism the world perceives it to be the truth, India does not even hesitate to perpetrate such acts of state terrorism against its own people and used these acts as the veritable arm and extension of India’s foreign policy objectives.

Is the Indian Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) taken in to confidence before such acts of state sponsored terrorism, couched under the ambit of false flag operations, are planned and executed by Indian Intelligence Bureau (IB), RAW or Military Intelligence. The Indian internal environment notwithstanding, such operations have serious ramifications at international level as well and could lead to unwanted regional wars capable of spiraling in to a nuclear exchange.

It is therefore all the more necessary that the government of Pakistan must impress upon Indian government the futility of undertaking such operations which could lead to disastrous consequences. The international community may also realize the dangers associated with such false flag operations which may have the tendency to cross the redlines defining nuclear thresholds.

You should see what is happening right now, to comment like this. The fact that Pakistani investigation agencies agreed to investigate 26/11 culprits is a huge achievement for our south block guys.
You need to find the culprits and punish them and if Pakistani authorities are doing it , then you have to support them. This move by Pakistan is a result of diplomacy.

You are dealing with Pakistan not with a terror group, there are rules and protocols to follow when you are dealing with a state. Blaming a state will not get you anything.
