My question is why has it been 5 years between the lying of the 2nd and 3rd corvettes?? what were they doing all that time

If they laid one every year since 2007 the entire project would have been competed by now they would have had like 6 of these

As the SSIK meeting is over we have some new info.

Original contract with the RMK marine scrapped. 3rd and 4th corvettes will be built in İstanbul Naval Shipyard which belongs to TAF.

And a new tender will be utlized for the remaining ships.

In Turkey nothing is on time,allways delays and changes or some other reason.

As painful as it is to say, Milgem is the first proper modern warship we have produced and they have taken a cautious approach. I believe the idea was to get enough feedback from first, apply the lessons learned to the second ship, again wait for feedback from the navy and build the rest in a private shipyard in a standardized manner. Now due to problems with the tender process, looks like the next couple ships will be built in the military shipyard again but I expect the following ships will not take as long as the design is settled. I say better to get it right and have them late than to rush into it and end up with flowed designs.

I just hope they stop making Ada-class and build rest of the ships as TF-100-class just add ESSM launchers already.

Yeap, we believe that was the reason. During the "Gezi Protests" which was in May-June 2013, KOÇ group who owns RMK marine and various other companies supported protestors. This later on made the government hostile against KOÇ group.
