Kashmiri girl quits band after fatwa !!

top Muslim cleric
declared their music to be “un-
Islamic”,

I wonder What Pakistanis have to say on this?

Pakistani film industry which relies on music and dance by Pakistani Muslim women must come to halt then?

.
Pragaash (light), the first all-girls rock band of Kashmir, yesterday decided to call it quits in the wake of a 'fatwa' issued by Grand Mufti terming singing as un-Islamic.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah was among a large number of political leaders who extended their unflinching support to the girls, urging them not to quit singing because of a "bunch of morons". The hardline Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani also criticised the Grand Mufti.

.

Sensing the mounting support for the girls, hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference led by Geelani had distanced itself from the 'fatwa' and said, "There is no threat to the girls. Nobody has issued any threats. It is a mere propaganda by the media and they are making a big bomb out of a normal issue to defame Kashmiris."

The spokesman of the Hurriyat faction Ayaz Akbar had said some youngsters posting abuses on social networking sites cannot be termed as threat and added that Hurriyat does not support such abuse or coercion and force in any way.

"The Syed Ali Shah Geelani-led Hurriyat Conference Sunday slammed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for supporting the “un-Islamic and immoral activities” of the first all-girls rock band of Kashmir.
“ For centuries Kashmir has been an epitome of decency and its dignified treatment of women. No noble family in this land of saints and seers can even think of allowing their daughters to become dancers and objects of entertainment for men,” Ayaz Akbar, the spokesman of Geelani-led Hurriyat, said in a statement.
Akbar lashed out at Abdullah for his “unnecessary support” to the three class X students who received abusive and hate messages on their Facebook page following a public performance last December.
“Although in a civilised society there is no place for coercion and force, yet there are some values a citizen has to adopt to safeguard the ethical, moral and religious traditions,” Akbar said."

The reason given was #its UNISLAMIC#
Hence the ongoing relevant matter, which is raised by Pakistanis who are champions of Islam.

Fools Fools, I say to those who are anti this fatwa, don't you know girls?

They will do the exact opposite. Probably end up in Jammu, squeezing all the morality out the window. If I was their father I would attend every concert in a most likely failed attempt to protect them from men (religion of the pricks does not matter here) and cursed the fatwa.

Without the fatwa they could have possibly become successful by talent, however as they say all publicity is good publicity.
