Personally I think there should even be an election in my province, UP, particularly Lucknow. There are still many people left who support pakistan or independent Lucknow:

And what makes you think that these people you mentioned would be able to do what other leaders were unable to? The foreign groups can only give their view point but can't enforce it and enforcement can only be done by the concerned parties...

because...

1. they would be laughing at the angry exchanges of the local governments/ministries because they ( foreigners ) would have a removed and big-picture perspective, especially because two of them are respectable... why should anyone with sane mind insult fidel and putin, and not except to be globally made fun of in return... why should anyone declare themselves to be outside of uno jurisdiction.

2. they would come prepared with the solution in op... it is from 2002, from another former revolutionary and fellow man of influence.

3. one thing is they should be ready to back the proposal with military means, which is available to them through sco/alba ( eastern/southern bloc ) and uno ( western bloc ).

4. the local governments will provide police force to work with the external peace-makers.

Kashmir is not a problem at all. All people want is to have good living standards for themselves and for their future generations. Who rules them doesnt matter as long as they are economically sound. So the solution is to make LoC an international border, ending the dispute. And then both Pakistani and Indian governments working to economically strengthen their bits of Kashmir.
Kashmir's problems will be solved forever when Kashmirs become wealthy. Not when they become independent or join any country.

@jamahir, your solution invites the intervention of Putin and Castro but what about the Kashmiri people. Why not simply let them decide where they want to go. The ultimate choice should be with the Kashmiri people which unfortunately Indians are unwilling to provide.

Also there is a severe difference between views from Pakistan administered Kashmir and Indian occupied Kashmir. On our side most people want merger with Pakistan. On the occupied side people want independence while the people of jammu (I am not sure if this is a majority) wanting merger with Indiaa and these people are mostly hindus.

@waz you are a Kashmiri, what do you think? @Kashmiri Nationalist you? I believe the ultimate decision should be in kashmiri hands.

When it was Bangladesh you said Bengalis were being oppressed by Pakistan and was being held by force so you had to act. But if so what about your own oppression of Kashmiris which you haven't given up even till today. You have no right to claim moral righteousness.

Kashmir valley is not Kashmir. Kashmir is just a small strip of 100 X 100 sq km .There is Jammu, and Ladhak.
