Srinagar: Clashes on Thursday erupted in a Shopian village after forces raided the house of a Hurriyat leader, reports said adding several protesters sustained injuries.
People came on roads in Chitragam village of Shopian district and started raising slogans after the government forces raided the house of Mohammad Yousuf Fallahi, district president of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.
Fallahi according to police is accused of organising dozens of anti-India rallies. Fallahi is evading arrest and was recently declared as proclaimed offender by police.
Government forces used tear smoke canisters to disperse the protesters who pelted stones on them. Soon the clashes spread to nearby Mulu village.
