Excellent point.

Its only Nawaz Sharif and his ilk who constantly exaggerate the losses suffered by Pakistan and not even the Indian Military, Foreign Observers agree with this stat.

Not only that, Pakistan had only 5,000 men with no air cover, no chance to support, provide logistic help against a heavily armed 30,000 Indian Force and even then it took then over 3 months to re-take the territory.

:lol::lol: What a funny logic...

This is not a one on one war ... all your 5000 man were at peak not on ground otherwise they were not able to survive even for a single day.

Pakistan could have easily won Kargil with little more effort put in. .

With a little more effort put in, I might have become the Prime Minister.......No meaning to such lines. What exactly does that mean ? India was not about to allow that intrusion to stand, there was simply no way you could have held on. If it became really difficult for India to take back positions, they would have opened up on the IB. There was simply no scenario wherein Pakistan could have held on. The only "if" that could have helped Pakistan is if India had accepted the Pakistani intrusion & not reacted the way it did. Once it did react, it was game over for Pakistan, regardless of the time it took to evict all Pakistanis from the zone.

Nope,This was the same CIA which spanked OBL and Pakistani Air Defence in Abbotabad.:)
Bechara NLI men were departing for a trip when the LGB's struck.

Understanding Each Other, Diversity and Dissent: KARGIL WAR

Albeit, you people are well known to fire over others shoulders, however if there is an iota of truth in all this banter, then a few years later, the IA wouldn't have been ***** footing on the border for a whole year begging US to intervene. Now sleep on that. !!
The truth, however, is absolutely devastating, and it clearly emerges from the book “No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington” by former US National Security Advisor and Secretary of State Dr Condoleezza Rice, who wrote that back in early January 2002 it was Brajesh Mishra who was pleading with Dr Rice to do something, anything, that would subdue the ‘for-war lobby’ that was gaining strength within India (meaning the NDA government-in-power never wanted to go to war with Pakistan). According to Dr Rice’s recollections, the US by early January 2002 had already been resigned to a war between India and Pakistan when Brajesh Mishra frantically called her for help. “I cannot constraint the war lobby here without some help,” he had said. This led the then US President George Bush Jr to speak with Pakistan’s President-cum-COAS Gen Pervez Musharraf to persuade him to make the statement on January 12, 2002 that Pakistan’s soil would not be allowed to be used by terrorists (an ashen-faced Gen Musharraf made this commitment in a nationally telecast speech), the fig-leaf for India to not start a war. Brajesh Mishra, on the other hand, had indicated (i.e. lied) back in 2002 that it was because of India’s successful coercive diplomacy that had forced Gen Musharraf to make the January 12 statement.

Pakistan could have easily won Kargil with little more effort put in. Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif did not co-operate much, which resulted in the loss. However, there are brilliant soldier stories from Pakistani side, like the New Tanveer post where 6 Pakistani men took on 250 Indians or another position where 26 men fought with 3 Companies of Indian army, with armor and artillery, longer than expected. These kind of stories were present in 1965 and 1971 too, yet Kargil was a failure overall.

can i remind you about 200 soldiers whopping 2000 pakistan men, 70 Tanks and 150 armored vehicle... remember...

as far as kargil is concerned, pakistan was established as an agressor and then as a timid bunch who unilaterally surrendered after IA opened up the big can of WHOOOP AZZZZ

Pakistan lost all wars with India but still their government able to make them fool for fake pride and self respect

Some blog becomes prophetic words of truth now

OOPS looks like Ummah's mouthpiece also confirms that PA was was routed in Kargil :
1999 - Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee meets with Nawaz Sharif, his Pakistani counterpart, in Lahore. The two sign the Lahore Declaration, the first major agreement between the two countries since the 1972 Simla Accord. Both countries reaffirm their commitment to the Simla Accord, and agree to undertake a number of 'Confidence Building Measures' (CBMs).

Some of the diplomatic gains are eroded, however, after the Kargil conflict breaks out in May. Pakistani forces and Kashmiri fighters occupy strategic positions on the Indian side of the LoC, prompting an Indian counter offensive in which they are pushed back to the other side of the original LoC.

From a blog now...
so brajesh mihra was trying to subdue the "war lobby", that basically save you guys from a repeat of 65, and even if thats true, should we believe everything that comes outta books from Pentagon and white house??? cos that would implicate you guys in lot of things you have been washing your hands off from, on this forum!

Pakistan lost its soldier, US support, Image and elected government due to Kargil blunder. India centric policies will cost them in future too. We moved on from Pakistan to attain bigger goals. You guys should do the same

They can't do this.....it's written in their Hadees...something like Ghazwa-e-Hind (Better described by GREAT SIR ZAID HAMID)......until it's materialized (i.e. Never), they will keep trying.
