Karachi : VIP Protocol “Police” and “Citizen”

you cant compare the situation... it was pretty irresponsible of the guy to take video of vip movement in a country where terror attacks are such widespread... however the policeman should simply have taken the camera and destroyed it or given verbal warning instead of thrashing the citizen.
2 cops involved have been suspended.

. .
I am sorry but here i blame this guy. Our LEAs are in a state of war and they are the primary targets of terrorists. Terrorists or their facilitators do not have "terrorist" written on their forehead, so someone filming a sensitive location or a convoy may as well be doing recce for an attack so the security agencies are well within their rights to deal with him with an iron fist.

People who are supporting the guy, are they sure he did not have bad intentions for filming? Are they sure he is not a terrorist facilitator doing recce and since he got caught he shared the video online to defame our LEAs??

.
The Police should have taken the camera or his ID-Card and make a FIR against the civilian guy, but acting like the law of the jungel is no way for anyone, neither the civilian or the Forces !

Any official source ?

2 policemen suspended for using abusive language against citizen.

So called LEAs were on protocal duty for someone is a corolla...

Hardly a big VIP.

Try doing the same with a rangers or a army protocol in Karachi. Pretty sure u wont live to tell the story.
They are there to protect someone and its their job.
You strat filming them then ur going to land in trouble.

Are Security staff allowed to manhandle people on the street? The Security detail could have asked the person, politely, to stop recording unless he had a good reason to do so. Worst case scenario, the security details should have called police and deputed one of its members to wait for regular police to sort the matter. There is no justification in what the policeman did, he should be held accountable and should be charged with physical assault and unfair intimidation.

Unless we make an example of these practices and the painful, thriving, VIP culture, it would not get any better for us and our families on the roads.

Usually at intersections, the Traffic Warden stops the entire 2-5 lane road from entering.

If people are that angry about this VIP culture why dont they, instead of honking, stop their vehicles in the intersection or continue on with their route?

A traffic warden isn't going to stop 10+ cars and motorcycles..

People are angry, but the VIP's are powerful. This is a country where constitutional amendment is carried out to give protection to 1 VIP, you can therefore imagine what VIP's are capable of.

Both Policemen now suspended, case closed so the thread.

Suspension is just punishment for assault???? Are you serious? That is a person who has taken an oath to defend and protect and what he has done is assault, abuse and threaten. He should be relieved of his position, he should face criminal assault charges and he should be sentenced to jail term.

.
Today in Morning VIP protocol was passing by and a citizen started to make there video and a Police Commando (SSU) came to him and said “Kia ker raha ha dekh nahi raha Tera Baap ja raha ha” and started to beat that citizen up but still that citizen was making video.
Question : What do you say about this Guys?
Of Course this will happen again and again. When whole Sindh Police is belong to PPP & Punjab Police belong to Sharif Family.

What you want publicly hanging?
They are security forces need some upper hand over to maintain discipline.

.
the brave member of the public who stood upto this and highlighted this abuse of public resources should be lauded.

If our leaders, generals and judges are too scared to walk the same streets we walk on, then they need to step down and let better men take their place.

I have seen with my own eyes the protocol given to the Queen of Britains son and hier Prince Charles. He travelled in a convoy of two cars with 2 police motorcycles in front and 1 behind. They wanted in the same traffic everyone else did.

Are you sure he was a "brave member of public"? Are you sure he was not doing recce for an attack later on and only released the video for negative propaganda only because he got caught?

Wow excellent logic, since he was in a Corolla he could not have been anyone "very" important so his security was not "very" important and if the guy in making the movie was in fact a terrorist, he should have been allowed to do his job right???

You are defending someone whose identity or intentions you have no idea about??? What if he is actually a terrorist doing recce of the convoy of whosoever was in the car to plot an attack later??? Why was he filming the convoy?? There wasn't anything out of the ordinary about it, it was even moving along with the normal traffic, so why was he filming it?? Even after the policeman gave him a scare, he kept on following and filming the convey, Itni kia takeef thi video bananay ke??

The only thing i have an objection about is that the 2nd time the policeman should have pulled his stupid a$$ out of the car, spread him on the hood and slapped handcuffs on him.

I see...so noone wants to be Mohamed Bouazizi.

Seems like noone is really angry then. Just more of "heat of the moment".

Did the police man take the footage? Did he arrest the man? Did he even question him? The answer to all three is no. It was just a thug with an ego hiding behind his government issue gun. If filming was a legitimate security threat the footage would have been deleted or confinscated, not released on social media, the driver (who is a lawyer btw) would have been arrested or questioned, not physically attacked and verbally abused.

Some of you guys act like he insulted your personal VIP protocols.

Such people shouldn't be hired it's dangerous to do so.Imagine if the driver tried to fight back or defend himself the mf would have shot him.Suspension is not enough it would have been justice if they expelled them.

No one would listen to you. The guy started filming when he felt that he is under threat and its necessary to record their reaction. At first he was told to get lost off the road like they do while coming from behind using the HIDs and loud sirens. No man with dignity can bear that. While I travel from work to home. These goons just come up speeding and almost hitting me usually while I've no space to enter into another lane. These people defending cops are nothing but sheeps.

If you know the driver personally, what was his reason to film the convoy?? Did he aim to provoke the security detail so that when they reacted he could film and use the footage for propaganda?? There is no scenario in which his filming the convoy can be justified. If he is a lawyer, he should sue the police department and use the footage to fight his case instead of spreading it on the internet. Your "victimized" friend is no different to the foul mouthed so called social activists like Asma Shirazi who have nothing else to do except slinging mud at the security forces.

Keyboard warriors like you have no idea what security personnel go through everyday especially in a hotbed of terrorism like Karachi where any innocent motorcyclist passing by can pull out an Uzi and start spraying bullets at them.

I just noticed your location flag, unless you have spent the last 10 years in Pakistan, you have no right to comment.

.
SSG commandos do not perform protocol duty on streets.

Making a video is some times stopped, because that is what the terrorists do to identify targets
and plan attacks.

Now, tell us about yourself ... Tell us what brings you here,
Tell us ... who deserves your vote
Tell us ... where you live ..

@Horus @Oscar Can you please help me on here.

Actually you should not be so narrow minded. People who live abroad in successful countries have an alternate perspective you should consider.

Security forces in the UK get filmed all the time, especially when they are arresting suspects etc. The same is true around the civilised world. The man in the car was using a camera phone not an uzi, they are easily distinguishable.

Karachi is not the red zone of Baghdad (circa 2006). If it is then the very same people who utilise the protocol are responsible for it being that way. Where is the police protocol for the rest of the awam? Is the life of a politician or judge or general any more important than the life of a labourer or a shopkeeper or an IT worker?

When the idol worship of those elected to office or appointed to office stops, only then will this country move forwards. The police are paid to protect us all, not just those with political clout. This video recording is part of a social campaign to highlight the trouble society is put through by so called vip culture. All life is equally important.
