Out of 101 Police stations, 45 are on the payroll of 5 parties controlling karachi.

When asked why don't you tell these things to Rangers. He describes How 198 Police officer who took part in 1992 operation were killed or gunned down one by one.... and after 15 years 194 killed and 4 left who are alive took protection of influential personalities. 2 SP's, one DSP, One Inspector..... And One SP is currently deputed to Bilawal house and rest 3 officials are lying low.How Police Officials Involved in BABER WALI KHAN investigation arrested murders and 4 of them were killed and no officer took case of BABER KHAN again. KARACHI: Police and Rangers opened three entry points of Lyari area that were earlier cordoned off as their joint search operation ended in the area on Sunday, reported Express 24/7.
Heavy contingents of police and Rangers participated in the door-to-door search operation.
Express 24/7 Correspondent Ahmed Jung reported that according to sources, at least 36 people were detained for questioning during the operation; however, they haven’t been arrested as yet. Two torture cells were also uncovered in the operation.
Earlier, the people of Lyari came out on the streets to protest against the search operation. They resisted the operation by burning tires and blocking roads in the area.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies also claimed to have arrested three suspected terrorists belonging to a banned outfit in Karachi.
Huge cache of explosives and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
SSP CID Fayyaz Khan told the media in Karachi that the action was taken on a tip-off from the already arrested criminals.
He said that three suspected terrorists namely Danish, Tariq and Shaan were arrested in a raid in Korangi.
The SSP said these terrorists got their training in Waziristan and were planning to target different political and religious figures.
Terrorists have also confessed their involvement in many robberies. They have been shifted to an unidentified place for further investigation.
Separately, the situation in the Quaidabad Chorangi area remained tense after a hand grenade attack was reported in the area.
However, there are no reports of casualties.
Two bodies dumped in gunny bags were also found in separate areas of Karachi.
NA forms parliamentary committee over Karachi situation

NA Secretariat issued notification of the formation of parliamentary committee which consists of members of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Members from Awami National Party (ANP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam- Functional (JUI-F) and Pakistan Muslim League- Functional (PML-F) were also included in the committee.
It was decided that the members of the committee would visit Karachi and Quetta to review the causes of unrest and will present their report to the Speaker in a span of two months.
A unanimous motion to form an all-party parliamentary committee was adopted by the National Assembly on August 12 to investigate the root causes of violence in Karachi and Balochistan.
The committee will also suggest durable and sustainable solution to curb the situation.

`Existence of torture cells hard to reject` | Metropolitan | DAWN.COM

KARACHI, Aug 20: Bodies bearing torture marks and gunshot wounds that are being dumped in various parts of the city in gunny bags indicate that “torture cells” do exist in many localities of the metropolis, sources told Dawn.

However, law-enforcement agencies despite having a sense that such activities were going on were not taking any action, the sources claimed.

During the decade of 1990s, the concept of torture cells emerged in the city when law-enforcement agencies claimed to have unearthed several such places in different city areas, a senior law-enforcement officer said.

“The torture victims` bodies that are being dumped along the roads these days remind me of the decade of `90s when such tactics were first used,” the officer added.

Law-enforcement and hospital sources are of the opinion that the manner in which these victims are subjected to torture and the techniques used in torture — such as slitting of throats, etc — suggest that such gruesome acts cannot be carried out on roadsides and somewhere sorts of torture chambers must be existing.

At least 24 bodies were brought to the Civil Hospital Karachi on Thursday morning which had been thrown from moving vehicles in different parts of the city. Apparently the victims were kidnapped, tortured and later put to death.

Officials were of the opinion that the presumed torture or execution cells are not confined to any particular parts of the city. And their existence could be assessed from the places where the bodies were being dumped, they add.

Generally, bodies were often dumped not very far from the place where the supposed torture cells were located, the sources said. It was believed so because taking a body to a faraway location carried obvious risks, the sources added.

It was also believed that terrorists and assassins used old government school buildings, under-construction structures, abandoned houses or apartments and other such places, which fell into disuse over the time, for their nefarious activities.

People in the surrounding localities and neighbourhoods often became suspicious of such activities, but because of fear they remained silent, the sources opined.

“Even if someone is bold enough to go to law-enforcers to report such matters, no concrete action on such complaints should be expected,” the sources said.

Rehman Malik is a born Liar... If he says he is eating apple, he is actually eating a banana

I agree with you santro, but it is not good for Karachi. He was against the operation against lyari gangsters from the very first day. Rangers have arrsted keyplayers from there, so he got frustrated.
