The debate is whether the tax revenue is generated by manufacturing plant who produces and sells but is located at a locality other than Karachi, or the head office which consolidates the revenues and deposits tax with government, and is located in Karachi. For example if a consumer loads the 100PKR card of U-Fone in Sukkur and pays 16 Rs tax on that but the Tax is deposited with government by U-Fone Office located in Karachi.The Revenue generation is done by Sukkur by collected at Karachi. Actually Karachi is in a vicious struggle for retaining power now rather than expanding. Now the dispute is of different nature. Its more like "stay in your lines" kind of stuff where each political stake holder is striving to maintain its current political status. As far as MQM is concerned, with all the evils (which are rather a necessity in a metropolitan city like Karachi). But MQM behaves in a relatively civilized way when compared to some of the other parties around (Layariiets, ANP and JSQM). Even when situation is worse, MQM dominated areas are much calm than other areas.

That Tax is Rightfully to be Classified as Karachi's Money. Let me Explain to you.

If a Karachi Company has a Manufacturing Plant in Punjab and the Money generated obviously goes back to the Headquarters of Karachi. So the Profit is Counted from Karachi and So the Tax. The Plant was Started by Karachi's Company and the Company by a Karachiwala. That's his Capability. Who is stopping Punjabis from doing the same?

Bhai sahib, do you even know what is the difference between a public limited company and a sole properitership? your argument is idnicative as if all those public limited companies and MNCs are sole-proprietorships. The second part is the revenue generation. The user was in sukkur and it was sukkur office who generated tax revenue.

Regardless of collection and selection though, Karachi remains economically most important city in the country, I think no body would object to that, it is the financial hub and operates the select port of the country.

i am not saying khi is not important part of pakistan its the gateway of pakistan and financial capital but its not fair to say that karachi is feeding whole pakistan and rest of country is just enjoying on it . Karachi is hub of pakistan economy while Punjab is Engine of Pakistan's economy
