Yes.
Also asked around those shops.
They said anything and everything gets confiscated.... and that it's a routine thing every year.
Shows that people don't particularly care and will be back on the street once the hype dies down.

now i'm hoping govt does something to regulate this transport mafia.

Are you out if your mind? Those were all poor people whose daily sustenance was tied with those encroachments. These people will either need to find some place else to put up their stalls. And if they find no place, you just increased the number of people who have nothing to do and harbor resentment against the government. This is not social welfare, this is tyranny of the privileged against the poor.

Article 18 will limit what federal government can do. I don't know if it specifically limits the fed's ability to provide alternate, but I have a feeling Zardari will use article 18 to max efffect to create resentment in the people.

Oh yara there are a ton of loop wholes in the constitution that can and will be used ranging from by not limited to governor rule to the SC stepping in. Besides, the supreme court is gearing up to do close reviews of everything in article 18.
