Kangana Ranaut Permanently Removed From Twitter After Controversial Post

.
Reading your comment and going through the article it again strikes me that the Indian political system is so complicated, unscientific and having a lot of scope for unscrupulous elements to come to leadership.
Indian political system is the best option, failure and mistakes is part of growth. People become wiser every election. Best thing is people can learn from mistakes and make a better decisions after 5 years.

Kangana Ranaut Permanently Removed From Twitter After Controversial Post

Kangana Ranaut's account violated policy on "hateful conduct, abusive behavior", Twitter said today.

New Delhi:
Actor Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account has been permanently suspended after a controversial tweet related to the post-election result violence in Bengal. The account repeatedly violated Twitter policy on "hateful conduct and abusive behavior", the social media site said today.

The 34-year-old actor, unfazed, accused Twitter of race bias. "I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema," she told news agency ANI.

In the tweet that appears to have spurred this action, the actor seems to urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to "tame" Mamata Banerjee using his "Virat Roop" from "early 2000s" in Bengal. She was reacting to a tweet by journalist-BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta on the violence in Bengal since election results were announced on Sunday; Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress - which won a landslide victory - and the BJP have blamed each other for the clashes and arson.

Kangana Ranaut's tweet sparked outrage and calls for action against the strident actor, whose timeline is filled with vitriolic posts.

"We've been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behavior that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy," a Twitter spokesperson said, adding that the rules were applied judiciously and impartially to all.

"As explained in our abusive behaviour policy, you may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. We consider abusive behavior an attempt to harass, intimidate, or silence someone else's voice."

Kangana Ranaut is notorious for her outrageous, no-filter posts on social media, many of which are provocative calls to action.

The actor also posted a rant on her Instagram account earlier today.

In the teary-eyed harangue, she talks about "disturbing news, videos and photos from Bengal of people being murdered, gang-raped and their houses being burnt". She also calls for President's Rule in the state, criticising a "government that I support" for not doing more than dharnas in response to the clashes.

41CommentsLast year, Kangana Ranaut's sister Rangoli Chandel had provoked fury with a tweet blaming the Tablighi Jamaat for Covid spread.

I don't get it? Is the person whose account was suspended, and is posted in-picture, a male or female or something else? Or is it the idiot journalist who referring to the person as "Actor" .... has lost his/her marbles when in school learning the english language?

.
If the latter two incidents happened as claimed then they were wrong. Shouldn't have happened. TMC and CPI-M should have collaborated. But the communists in India themselves are split anyway. A dozen different factions - public, underground and guerrilla.

But about the jaw bones maybe it is as much a myth as the RSS member murdered in Bengal and his blood fed to his mother who went mad after that.

Swara is also nice to listen to. That appearance of hers on that Pakistani talk show.

OK.

And the CPI-M government should have collaborated with the industrialists.

Which do you mean ?

I think after Kangana played and directed a film in 2019 on the queen of Jhansi who fought against the British colonizers Kangana realized that she could play up hypernationalist, most times religious sentiments in India and get into political power in the most fashionable party nowadays - BJP. For that film the BJP government rewarded her with the Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards in the country.

BJP has about 180 million members and Kangana is quite set to join it in one or two years and make a career in it.

@Drizzt

Like Ayushman Bharat or Healthcare for all, one nation one ration card, beti bachao beti padhao, MGNREGA, PM Awas Yojana, PM Kisan ( it may be wrong), UJJALA, Atal Pension etc etc, . All are socialist policies to help the most vulnerable one in society .

Well, journalist is right in this case, the word "actor" is used as a gender neutral word.

the Restoration [ King Charles II] opened the stage doors of the English theater to women (they’d already made their entrances in Italy and France). At that point they were known as actors, along with their male counterparts. It would be several decades before the word “actress” appeared -- 1700, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, more than a century after the word “actor” was first used to denote a theatrical performer, supplanting the less professional-sounding “player.”

Well, if the people actually think about matters such as the one I posted in the below thread and then rebel against the political system it will be nice :

But tell me, will there be any other country in the world where 350,000+ farmers commit suicide within 10 years because of socio-economic reasons and knowing this the people don't revolt ? Or at least have a vigorous social debate ? Those many farmers committed suicide in India between 1995 and 2015, many more after that and countless more before. This is murder by the system. But the Indian middle class didn't rebel but continued its obsession with religion, cricket, college degrees, jobs and marriage.

To further answer you I will ask you to read this post of mine.

India is filled with extremism in every segment of society. What a bat shit crazy nation.

Bhai, even Pakistani society is filled with religious extremists, whether they be the Haya March'ers or those particular PDF members defending Maulana Tariq Jameel who proclaimed that COVID happened because of "shamelessness of women".

You will agree that in South Asia India and Pakistan are not that progressive. Even in Taliban-infested Afghanistan there are progressive movements. :)

"Actor" is the fashionable, politically correct word used even to refer to a female actor.

They all have some problem or another.

For example the Ayushman Bharat "healthcare" program is inefficient and not ambitious. AFAIK it gives monetary benefit to only a certain section of society ( the "very poor" ) and to just one member of such a family and only up to five lakh rupees. What if more than one person of the family is unwell ? What if the treatment costs more than five lakhs, say cancer treatment which can cost from 20 lakhs to 35 lakhs ? Often on this forum's pages there are ads by the Ketto organization calling for Indian citizens to provide crowdsourced money for the treatment of Indians for various illnesses. On NDTV India news channel they call for crowdsourcing money for treatment of blindness. Once or twice I myself have given some money for these purposes. Add to that the government has allowed private health insurance companies to operate. So many people don't have enough money to eke out a living in a month, how will they pay for insurance ? If the Ayushman Bharat program actually worked, if it provided free, universal, high-quality healthcare these unnecessary ways need not have existed.

Each farmer dies due to some cunning money lender baniya, they should take out a money lender before death. Why die for free ? What's the point taking such a extreme step when it results in no change.

Suicide is not a rural culture, because stakes are low. You can rely on support of relatives in a rural society, in cities no one cares of others. All the migrant workers in cities started walking to rural areas for this support system. Suicide is common in cities, were stakes are high. Now, Suicides are increasing in rural areas because corporate system is spreading to rural economies, farming is increasingly dependent on pesticides, fertilizers, GMO seeds etc.

Does Bengaluru continue to be the suicide capital of India?

@Bilal9, my previous post above about Kangana.

Yeah Kangana has been gunning for a BJP post - who know maybe "culture minister" at some point. Don't know if they have that in India already, along with Ministry of News Media.

The transformation of this woman from two-bit vamp to wholesome "Swati-Savitri" (chaste Indian lady) has been something to watch....

And what is it with BJP and some of the young floozies?

Maybe another vote-getting tactic....they floated some models as vote getters in WB (Kolkata) too....there were quite a few. Maybe to get the younger electorate votes.

Congress is doing the same thing in some constituencies. Here is Actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar in an appropo Halloween outfit. Hindutva Pandering at its finest, from Congress! Hello....

She lost to BJP’s Gopal Shetty in the Mumbai North constituency.

The so called Queen of Jhansi was also just propped up, she was never a true nationalist. Brahman historians created a fake image about Queen of Jhansi, though fake news.

The Rani was born in 1835. She was 22 when she died.
Not true. In all probability she was born round about 1828, making her 30-ish when she died.

The Rani's husband, Gangadhar Rao, fought the British.
Not true. He died in November 1853, three and a half years before the Great Rebellion broke out. In fact he, and his predecessors had cooperated with the British.

The Rani went into battle with her son tied to her back.
What sort of mother is it that would take her 10 year old son into the middle of a battle? What sort of soldier is it that would hamper herself with a 10 year old child tied to her back? The Rani may have had her faults but she was not stupid.

Nonetheless there is a kernel of truth in this one. When the Rani fled Jhansi she is said to have tied her son to her back for his safety. Now this makes sense.

The Rani fought wielding a sword in each hand and controlling her horse with the reins between her teeth.
Not true. This sort of extravagant display would only have resulted in an even earlier death. She did practice riding like this. One young man who witnessed this lived to be over 100 and testified to it.

The Rani escaped from Jhansi by jumping her horse from the wall of the Fort.
Not true. The western wall of the fort coincides with the city wall and so someone could escape from Jhansi by that route. However any horse making that jump would have been killed, the landing area is rock and slopes away from the wall very rapidly. Not possible. even if she had a miraculous horse capable of it, what of those who left with her?

At the time of her escape the British had broken through the city wall in the south and were fighting through the city. they had not, and were not able at that time to surround the Fort. She could have left by the gate.

The Rani fought the British to prevent the annexation of Jhansi.
Not true. The annexation of Jhansi and the mutiny and rebellion were entirely separate events over 3 years apart. The mutiny in Jhansi had nothing to do with the annexation other than the simple fact that if there had been no annexation there would have been no British unit in Jhansi to mutiny.

The Rani rebelled to regain Jhansi.
Not true. The Rani did not instigate the mutiny, nor did she support it. She resumed her role as Rani when the mutineers left as there was no other authority in Jhansi. The British initially approved and supported this action. She may well have had hopes regarding Jhansi's future but that is another matter.

I bet in real life this Jhansi ki Rani was no different form Kangana Raut, There was no media and other capture devices at that time. Easier to make grand image, overtime.

BJP has not future in the long run, BJP runs on money and riots, paid media, paid rallies, paid politicians.

Please could you provide sources for what you have posted?

Here are a few links which state that she was actually involved in the rebellion...duh.

However, I'll agree that she has been propped up by nationalists to resemble some sort of a warrior who fought for Indian independence when after all, she fought to save her own kingdom (I'm assuming you know of the context, Doctrine of Lapse and all or maybe if you don't which is looking more likely, please read up on it).

While this is true in theory, and democracy maybe the best option for an ethnically divided country artificially held together by rather thin promises of "representing every section of the <Indian> populace" - I can't help but wonder how a fascist tyrant person like Modi became a leader of this vast nation.

There is a saying in Bengali - the identity/value of a tree is borne by the preciousness of the fruit it bears.

When a system lets a tyrant become it's leader, that system itself becomes questionable.

Democracy is $hit when you can buy votes from electorate in exchange for a Saree or a dhoti.

More so - when the sufferers of tyranny let the tyrant get away with tyranny, and ruin its economy, like what is happening in India right now.

A govt. and governance exists for the ongoing wellness and safety of the public good.

In that, the current govt. of India has failed miserably.

Their current hold to power is only activated by propaganda and/or violent suppression of dissent.

Everyone makes mistakes. Even an old democracy like USA made mistake by electing Trump.

Modi/BJP made deals with corporates for funds and recruited big marketing for 2014 elections.

Have you not ever fell for an marketing/advertising purchased a hyped product and regretted later ? You suffer from bad decisions and learn to do research and/or read reviews in the future. Would you surrender your right to take decisions ? rely on someone to make them for you ?

Whatever that doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Let people learn from mistakes and become wiser, that's the only lasting solution.
