Just in: India's Nirbhay cruise missile blasts off from Integrated Test Range, Odisha. Details await

NSG has worked out pretty well. Thanks to Russia.:D

Only in Pakistan a thief is called by Father of nuclear bomb..

and what were bhabha and his idiot colleagues who played with Canadian reactor provided for civilian use  isnt it called cheating in bharat? dont you consider those bastard cheaters your heroes who started nuclear race in subcontinent:rofl: bcoz of those bastard cheaters NSG was established..:flame:

i mean WTH?? Pakistan is criminal bcoz Pakistan allegedly stole blueprint? you stole whole plant and you are innocent? who should i blame for this idiocy? bollywood media?

again as i said DR Khan was proved innocent in European courts.. you can charge him for proliferation (on behalf of establishments) but cannot call him a thief..

Who established NSG! :D
Cause most of the member associated to NSG has been providing India with nuclear materials, technologies & reactors. On the other side only China is busy changing diapers of neighbor since it's creation..China na rheta to tuje photo dekh ke hi sona hota....:cheesy:
Now you get Bhaba guy's worth...

cant blame you, since you are product of bollywood media aka presstitutes, :rolleyes1:Pakistan did most of it nuclear shopping from Europe and US, go watch Project 706 documentary on youtube, half of documentary is about European people who sold materials to Pakistan .. US/CIA too was aware of Pakistani activities..

Congrats

NEW DELHI: Another test of the much-touted "Nirbhay" land-attack cruise missile, designed to carry nuclear warheads to a strike range of 1,000-km, failed on Wednesday. This was the subsonic missile's fourth test since March 2013, all of which have more or less failed to achieve test parameters.

The missile had to be destroyed in mid-air after it deviated from its flight-path along the coast in Bay of Bengal soon after launch from the Integrated Test Range at Balasore off the Odisha coast around noon on Wednesday. "The test was an utter failure, with the missile veering to the right within two minutes of take-off," said a source.

While the missile's first test in March 2013 had completely failed, the second one was dubbed "a partial success" in October 2014. But the third test in October 2015 and the one on Wednesday also failed miserably.

DRDO may have come a long way in developing ballistic missiles like the Agni series, which have strike ranges from 700-km to over 5,000-km, but continues to flounder in the field of cruise missiles.

The armed forces, of course, already have the supersonic BrahMos cruise missiles developed with the help of Russia, but they have a range of only 290-km as of now and carry only conventional warheads.

The Nirbhay, a stealth missile in the making for almost a decade now, was meant to fulfill the armed forces' demand for nuclear-tipped land-attack cruise missiles (LACMs) versatile enough to be fired from land, air and sea. The missile was said to be a counter to Pakistan's Babur LACM.

The real big test for DRDO, of course, will be the impending fourth test of the Agni-V intercontinental ballistic missile, with a strike range over 5,000-km, in its final operational configuration from the Wheeler Island off Odisha

Epic fail.
The 55 series of cruise missile has a ground launched variant, the RK-55 including a conventionally armed variant RK-65/9M729 which was analogous to KH-65SE with a range of over 600 km.
 so a soviet missile from 70s is what Babur is based on?

Rk-55

Babur ... 3 variants... G2G,Anti ship,SLCM.. It's terrain hugging and a modern missile unlike a KH-55 variant from the 70s!

If anything the RK-55 has more in common with your struggling nirbhay;

More credible rumour is that it's based on the Tomahawk missiles that fell in Balochistan in the 90s.. When USN fire them at OBL/AQ in Afghanistan..

ROFL.
9M728/729 was unveiled in late 80s and was much lighter with a 410 kg HE warhead and it's shorter range SE variant is basically what Korsun is based on.
Pakistan still cannot even make Baburs turbofan engine.

Babur still cannot hit moving targets, it can merely hit static targets on sea, last week test was carried as the previous version of DSMAC was not compatible in maritime environments also TERCOMs were not functional on sea.

It has no homing warheads.

Next time please reverse engineer Russian tech properly. This is what happens when you put in shitty effort.
you seem to be close to shit or gutter as you always talk nonsense here . failure is acceptable before it is inducted in the armed forces . are you nuts or in xinhua CPC menstruation state ???????? da yi ma lai le ma ????????????????

Moron ... Ministry of defence report 2014-15 confirmed the anti ship variant ..

As for your nonsense regarding Korshun .. Sunny shut up...

Ministry of defence report did confirm anything, all it said was a ship launched system which it was reffering to as developing of [one] ship-borne system with [one] Land Attack Missile and [one] Anti ship Missile, which was clearly C-602 which Pakistan was able to buy after years of pleading.

Just for record... see how are indian friends are telling us that their country with 4 failed tests is mastering cruise missile technology...

While our country which is fielding several different variants of 2 distinct cruise missiles operational and deployed for 15 years... has not capacity for this technology...

They have similarly distorted the whole history of past 1100 years

Regards

sorry unlike you I don't speak retard.

Anyways the fact that Babur is nothing but an Ukrainian missile, is confirmed by this book published by Stanford University Press and authored by Stanford University partner think tank International Assessment and Strategy:

Subsonic cruise missile Nirbhay flight test fails
Balasore (Odisha), Dec 21, 2016 (PTI)

India today conducted the flight test of indigenously-designed and developed long range subsonic cruise missile 'Nirbhay' from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur in Odisha but there was no official word on reports that it had failed. The sophisticated missile with a strike range of 1,000 km was test launched from a specially-designed launcher around noon from the launch complex-3 of the ITR near here, defence sources said.

Shortly after the launch, there were reports that the test had failed like most of the earlier launches. Neither the Defence Ministry nor the DRDO, which is the agency involved in the launch, were ready to comment on the development. They also refused to react to reports that the launch was a failure.

Powered by a solid rocket motor booster, 'Nirbhay' missile with a turbo-fan engine is guided by a highly advanced inertial navigation system. After the missile achieves designated altitude and velocity the booster motor is separated and the torfan engine automatically switches on taking over further propulsion, a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist associated with this project said.

He said that mid-way in its flight, missile's wing opens up by the commands generated by the sophisticated on board computer for stabilising the flight path. The missile was tracked with the help of ground based radars and it's health parameters were monitored by indigenous telemetry stations by team of professionals from DRDO's ITR and LRDE (Electronics & Radar Development Establishment).

The maiden test flight of Nirbhay held on March 12, 2013 had to be terminated mid way for safety reasons due to malfunction of a component, sources said. However, the second launch on October 17, 2014 was successful. The next trial conducted on October 16, 2015, had to be aborted after 700 seconds of its launch. All these trials were conducted from same defence base.

A flight-test of subsonic cruise missile Nirbhay from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Balasore in Odisha on Wednesday was “an utter failure”, informed sources in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said. The sources added that the failure was caused by the wing-deployment problem in the second stage of the missile, which flies like an aircraft.

Out of four Nirbhay missions so far, three, including Wednesday's flight-test, have ended in failure.

On Wednesday afternoon, after the missile took off from Launch Complex-III of the ITR, it did not follow the required flight path.

“The booster engine in Nirbhay's first stage started working. The missile lifted off from its launcher. But it started veering dangerously towards one side in less than two minutes of its lift-off,” DRDO officials said.

The missile started flying beyond the safety corridor and threatened to fall on the land. So the “destruct” mechanism in its first stage was activated and it was destroyed.

The DRDO sources called the mission “an utter failure” because the missile started veering towards one side in the “initial phase” of the flight itself. They said, “It is a big failure. We should have a thorough re-look at what has been done so far. Out of four Nirbhay missions, three have ended in failure.”

The sources ruled out any problem with the missile's configuration. They said it could be “a hardware failure” that led to the mission being aborted. “This is a hardware element issue. This is a reliability issue with a component,” they explained.

A successful Nirbhay mission would have lasted for more than an hour. In a normal mission, the contraption will take off vertically like a missile, then a mechanism in its first stage will tilt the missile horizontally and the first stage, with its booster engine, will jettison into the sea. Then the second stage with the turbo-engine will start cruising horizontally like an aircraft with its wings spread out at a subsonic speed of 0.7 Mach.

The missile, conceived, designed and developed by the DRDO, can take out targets 1,000 km away. It can carry a 300 kg warhead.

Previous tests
Nirbhay’s debut flight on March 12, 2013 was a failure. After 20 minutes of lift-off, it deviated from its path and its “destruct” mechanism was activated to ''kill'' it.

The second flight on October 17, 2014 was a big success. The missile travelled 1,010 km instead of the targeted 800 km.

The third mission on October 16, 2015 was again a failure. After 70 seconds of its flight, when it was cruising like an aircraft after the first stage had fallen off as planned, it lost control and fell within the safety zone.
