JPMorgan's Managing Director of Asia Pacific Equity Research, James Sullivan, sees India becoming the world's third-largest economy by 2027, with its GDP more than doubling to $7 trillion by 2030.

“I would argue very strong long-term tactical drivers that make India a key overweight from a structural perspective from JPMorgan,” Sullivan said in an interview with CNBC-TV18.

Sullivan expects the manufacturing contribution to India's GDP to rise to nearly 25% from 17% and exports to more than double, to over a trillion dollars.

From a longer-term perspective, we see massive changes in the overall structure of the Indian economy, which present clear opportunities for sector selection within what we think will be a strong overall market," he said.

With a population of 1.4 billion, why is this even news? Even if it becomes 3rd, it is a distant 3rd. However, this is not to put shade, rather just calling out that this is as simple as understanding the demographics and their direct correlation to the economy.

It is a not a big news. Keep in mind you have never assured of anything
If demographics was destiny Pakistan and Nigeria will be in the top 10

We're likely to overtake Japan in 2024 🤞.

If high population would create a huge economy then every country would've been incentivising it's population to breed like rabbits :)

Yes, it is nothing to talk about.

There is nothing great about a growth rate of 7.8 %. There are so many countries that are doing better and in this region itself.

Shame on these people for talking about and celebrating anything less than 15-16% yoy growth.

Another bad news for Indian economy. Now Google also wants to manufacture phones and contribute to development of manufacturing sector and the economy.

I am sure that it would fail badly and wouldn’t add anything to what it is touted to do.
As hoped, wished and prayed for, by many friends from Paksiatn. Same like failure of production of Apple in India that they had forecasted.
