I had also noticed anecdotally that "z" is a difficult sound for many native Indians. I'm not sure why. Perhaps there is no "zaal" in Hindi?? Often "z" comes out as "j". I don't know the details of this phenomenon.

The High Court today declared "Joy Bangla" as national slogan.

The court asked the government to take necessary steps so that the "Joy Bangla" slogan is used at functions of all academic institutions.

Important persons of the state must also use the "Joy Bangla" slogan at the end of all state programmes.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader delivered the verdict following a writ petition filed by Dr Bashir Ahmed, a Supreme Court lawyer, seeking necessary order in this regard.

In the petition, the lawyer mentioned that "Joy Bangla" was the slogan of freedom fighters and people of Bangladesh during the Liberation War.

unless any national consensus comes regarding our natioanl slogan no high court supreme court order can implement this ''Joy Bangla '' it will follow until AL in power.

You are correct.
Usually, 'Z' in Arabic and Farsi words are written with 'Ze' ز as in سزا.
The Zaal ' ذ' is in fact Dhal in Arabic but Zaal in Farsi and Urdu. Hindi 'Za' ज़ = Z which is not available in Bengali. Both Bengali জ and য = J in Bengali. Specifically, Bengali য = hindi/sanskrit Ya य .

Thanks for this. However I notice there is a "z" sound in Hindi according to what you wrote. Maybe many Indians don't speak Hindi at all, hence the sound is unusual to them. I'm just guessing here.

Only native Hindi/Urdu speakers can pronounce Z correctly. Most Hindi/Urdu speakers who we come across, Hindi/Urdu isn't their first language.
