Where are the American's heading next?

Probably Yemen, they probably have good ties with the King in Jordan and Yemenis are poor and ill equipped anyway to either take on the AQ or put up any resistance to another War Front that may be opened there.

Then again screwing with Jordan impacts upon Israel's cause in some ways.

I dont think US will launch a full assault on yemen but covert operation and drone strikes are expected.

there is no reason what so ever the US is going after Jordan, they are doing what they are told to do and do not pose a threat to Izzzraeil...

Yemen on the other hand, is a country on the verge of collapse with rising militancy and a safe haven for AQ.

Somalia is still a problem, but the nightmare of 1993 is still haunting the US and their proxy armies couldn't do the job, so it's on hold.

Syria is pinned, and can't do a thing.

It's no secret that no one at least for now is interested in attacking Iran, so attempts to destabilize it from the inside is ongoing.

@ Asim.

IMO i don't think yanks are going to open a new front at this time of the year.

As far as i know they may support Yamani Armed forces or yamani Air force to fight against those AQ elements.

what do you think?

The Americans will use Yemni authorities for hitting the American targets, which will create unrest in a country that already faces a Shi'ite revolt in the north and a separatist drive in the south.
Destabilize the country till the time things get out of hands for the Yemnis to control, hence giving a reason to the Yankees for direct intervention and then it is very rarely seen that the yankees evacuate their bases.

KSA will be taking the lead and become the public face for foreign assistance/troops on the ground in Yemen. Their troops are already assisting the suppression of the shia rebellion in the north.

It'll be very difficult for Yemeni clerics to issue any legitimate jihadi fatwa against the protectors of the holy sites. Further, if so, KSA can roust up any number of clerics to contradict and dissemble such.

Finally, KSA has no love for A.Q. Many of its salafist/wahabbist citizens feel otherwise but the royal family knows they're a target for a variety of reasons.

Somalia is a dead-zone for any foreign assistance/troops short of anti-pirate ops. If A.Q. operatives reach there, they'll experience relative safety for the time being IMHO.

Too much on our plate for the near-term with Iran, Haiti, our withdrawal from Iraq and, obviously, PAK-AF.

Thanks.:usflag:

Haha, so Saudi Arabia would be your Pakistan in the Middle East

Pakistanis were once renowned as champions of all Muslim causes around the world. It doesn't take long for terrorists to term people kafirs just as we have been slapped that label now.

Saud family is already termed as kafir by Osama Bin Laden and AQ in general.

The coming years would probably draw more fight from Jordan through Saudi to Yemen.

Well, maybe...

...until you start to compare the size of their wallet to yours.

And the size of your army to their's.

"Care to define S2"

Not much to say but that we'll be in Afghanistan and involved with you guys for awhile longer. This thing ain't goin' away anytime soon.

Obama said we'd START to withdraw about July 2011. And we will. He also said it's dependant upon conditions on the ground...

...So if conditions on the ground then aren't swimmingly wonderful, he might pull out...

...all of one man and say the process has started.

And I have met my destiny
