Joint military industry project for Arab world?

.
What can Algeria provide? @Ceylal
Hazzy, the state of the Arab league gives an idea on the inner cooperation between the arabs. a military cooperation between them is something that will never happen, at least in our lifetime....Algeria is making inroad in some aspect of military industry with Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, China, Poland, South Africa ,Italy and Germany...and for the forseeable future, we have no reason to think it will change...

.
Everyone is criticizing its government, be it the Arabs , the Pakistanis, The Iranians or even the Americans, this seems normal, since in democratic countries, you have opposition in the Parliament who wants to be the next government, so this is nothing but a political game, not always played in the interest of a nation as a whole, they try to satisfy the majority which starts at 51%. A nation's success can then be measured by the percentage of its satisfied people.
Criticizing the Arabs as a whole has no foundation to it but, bias, racism or despair.
The Arabs today are doing much better than in the last decades, this the first time that we see an Arab movement towards self reliance, and Industries can not be built in a 5 years plan, it will take time. Only cooperation can speed up the process.
If one looks at North Africa from Morocco to Egypt, one finds only one country that fares a bit better than the others and that is Algeria, because of it natural resources, all the rest are struggling economically, yet developing somehow, which is a good sign, meaning that there is a huge potential for further development as most of these nations have unexploited natural resources.
This North African example mirrors what is happening in other Arab nations in the ME who do not have natural resources or still unexploited resources. While I still think that education an the Human capital is more important than natural resources, these latters can boost an economy and hence the budgets for education and more.
All the Arab states have some form of military industry, it goes from basic to high tech, so it is more a matter of assessing the assets and putting things together in a common frame of work based on the needs of the whole Arab world.
Assigning specializations to the more populated and less rich Arab countries and funding the industries could be a good start, and a positive step forward.

It is better to trow up any sectarian sentiment in Muslim world and start to bring all best industries in Muslim world to cooperate each other in a more efficient way. The best should be cooperating with another best, regardless whether it is in the same region or not, thus it can broaden the market much better and produce more superior product. No time any more to play like in old days where Arab should prioritize cooperating with another Arab.

. . .
This Weapons Production Program should have started in 1950's,

Still not too late. Better late than never.

. .
Once i have said a similar thing.....

Drop Turkey's defence giants in the middle like TAI, Roketsan, Aselsan, Tubitak Sage, etc...

GCC will fund it. In return we will set up Joint Production centers in Egypt, Jordan, Algeria with ToT. Afterwards everyone will be happy with their NATO grade new weapons.

So you see a wider Middle East cooperation? As long as it comes with conditions. Main one being zero cooperation with Israel/transfer of technology. If that ever happens of course.

Funny such important idea is discussed on private forums and Arabs dont give shit about it.
That amount of defence spendings backed by western experts can become a csndyland. But i believe daddy US can never let it haooen as it will dry uo the orecious billions of dollsrs paid by GCC countries for weapons import

I don't get why it isn't taken seriously in the Arab world. This can happen while they'll still be importing.

Tunisia have UAV company
Tunisia Aero Technologies Industries S.A.
Tunisia Aero Technologies Industries S.A

This is good. If all Arab nations had a joint effort we could all pitch in and produce something.

It's like talking about an utopia...Arabs are not united that's the problem, so we are talking very hypothetically here.

Hmm, good question.
Currently we have zero cooperation with Israel....

Israel can give us ToT.
But with GCC funding, we can invest more on R&D come up with more indigenous systems.

But i don't think Israel will give us ToT. They rather sell finished products. So that would be better to stick with Arabs on this one.

I wasn't singling out Turkey. I meant if a joint defense committee was joined, that rule would pertain to all members. A combination of Turkey/Egypt military industry to help boost Saudi/GCC industry would work out well IMO.

The funding, man power for research and raw material is an opportunity. If I was an leader in the Middle East I would be seriously considering this right now.

Yeap, could be. Why not ?

.
To be honest, even Pakistan is not an Arab country, but it has by far the strongest military industry foundation among all Muslim countries.

This joint development cannot leave Pakistan into oblivion.

And don't forget the Assad family who is still on the radar.

Even they are Alawite Shia, but they indeed have to ambition to unite the entire Arab world as well.
