Not all Indian-Americans are anti-Pakistan. And she's only 1/2. No real advantage for Modi's India if the Democrats somehow pull this win.

However, if Congress were in power in India, it would have definitely led to a great alliance. Congress is unlikely to win for another 10 years...possibly never in future.

Kamala Harris looks like someone who does not tolerate any casual sexism. That doesn't look good for Narendra Modi and all the other male BJP leaders. They say plenty of nasty stuff about women all the time, that is why Donald Trump was a perfect match. Luckily for them, Joe Biden is yet another sexist pig, so that something in common will remain.

Harris didn't spare Joe Biden in the Primaries by accusing him of fondling women staff inappropriately (of course, Joe has that "criminal grin" so he is guilty as charged).

I appreciate your view but American politicians are cut from a different cloth. It doesn't matter if she's half-Indian or full, they tend to see India/Pakistan/Bangladesh etc. with the same perspective. For example, Nikki Haley is a full-blooded Indian-American. Is there any proof she's been anti-Pakistan in her capacity as UN representative for the US? Not really.

Same way there is London Mayor Sadiq Khan. He's of Pakistani origin, but he is very close friends with Indian businessmen in the UK. So if he becomes UK Prime Minister someday, what will he do?

Indians and Pakistanis both behave differently once in positions of power. It's not easy for them to discriminate against the other group. Many probably don't do it. Rishi Sunak who's in a responsible position in the Boris Johnson cabinet. Most hatred between the two countries is limited to the subcontinent landmass.

America is a different kind of country compared to many other places. Most immigrants assimilate so well in that "melting pot" they forget their roots completely.

Also, no US politician is "pro" or "anti" Kashmiri, they look after the country's strategic interest first.

This Kamala Harris is an untested commodity, there is no way to tell which direction she will swing. Most likely they will toe Democrats established line on Kashmir.

But Biden-Harris will be definitely less painful for Kashmiris compared to Donald Trump who has almost zero understanding of the India-Pakistan problems.
