The IAF won't buy any substandard product. I hope this is enough proof for all those who claim the govt is simply shoving the LCA down the IAF's throats.

The current Tejas is a workable model today. But the IAF wants a model for the future.

The Tejas, as it is today, is at a higher level than the JF-17 Block 2. Advanced airframe with RO characteristics, 4 channel digital FBW etc.

The IAF is asking from the Tejas what Lock Mart calls "near fifth gen" capabilities, what they are peddling to the IAF through the F-16 B70. So that's their standards and the current Tejas does not meet it.

You know the RCS of both aircraft? And LO bullshit can be set aside unless you foresee Tejas flying without any external stores ... oh and of course as it currently stands, its not qualified to even use its cannon in flight. Yeah its at such a "higher" level indeed. Pathetic

Eight Tejas flew 6 sorties a day each and had a 100% serviceability during Gagan Shakti.

And if by "factory level technicians" you mean the HAL logistics support team during the Gagan Shakti excercise then you are being blatantly disingenuous; it is standard practice for IAF if not for every other airforce in the world to use engineers and technicians of the respective production companies during large scale excercises and especially during war to help with maintenance and logistics.
HAL technicians and engineers were crucial during IAF operations in Kargil in 1999.

it is still something that its primary end user is not happy with and continues to have apprehensions about until a futur version addresses it.

Here's the thing, what IAF wanted by the 2000s was a Gripen-E type fighter and they aren't getting that before the Tejas has the chance to better itself through Mk1s and Mk1As, even the Gripen had to go through A, B, C & D versions to get to NG and E.
The above doesn't mean the current Tejas can't be compared to JF-17, it just means that the future version of Tejas can't be compared to JF-17 as it will be far better.

And if IAF truly wasn't happy with the Tejas they wouldn't have committed to 324 of it.

Just be honest, you pakistanis are as obstinate and adamant as us Indians so do get off that high horse already.

Glitches occur in every fighter aircraft in the world neither us nor you lot are free from it especially when they are being ridden hard like we did and do, so why not complete the ACM's comment, i.e. "....Tejas matched other aircrafts detail for detail and all 8 aircrafts maintained 100% serviceability....".

Honestly Oscar I would have closed the thread. It is nothing but 20 pages of flame baiting and cursing. Simply put JFT IS IN ACTIVE SERVICE IN SUFFICIENT NUMBERS. TEJAS IS NOT!

Who can verify your claims that appear plain lies? You could claim 23 sorties rather than 3 sorties. When someone resorts to making facts, what then stops you to do that willfully? Your claims will have no effect of Teja's health. A patient keeps suffering on the bed even if the nurse keep making absurd claims out of the ward.Poor Teja is no better than a patient.
