IMO the only clearly visible difference is its radar.

The top images of the 02 show a finer longer nozzle,
the first ring in silver is about the same but the blue
steel with black ring part is more tapered for a better
reduction in its opening.

Wild guess : the engine on the 01 was a test throwback.

The same with the fifth generation project AZM ... there are at least three threads running. IMO they could be merged, but I'm not able to moderate in the PAF-section.

Done. Two different thread w.r.t. project Azm merged. JF-17 B Information and threads gathered. Hopefully, the same would be helpful. Thanks for pointing out. Also, if needed further moderation, do let me know.

We are talking about Inlets here and not the whole bird.

Actually I tagged Windi w.r.t. square or same inlets of JF-17 A & B that in my opinion, was more of camera angle illusion.
