These generators are run by the engines, engines don't produce any electricity by themselves. It's just like a car engine runs the car and the AC too, you start the AC in smaller cars and the car speed/power drops because the AC now also use some of the energy produced by the engine. Hence the more powerful engine to give more power to the plane itself as well as being able to run heavier/bigger generators.

You do it need more powerful engine for avionics but generator
