3B is externally the same as 2B with minor differences. The most notable difference is wingtip hard points. Refer to posts 3027 and 3031 in this thread.Really??

I thought all BI's were being upgraded to allow block 2 to serve as a standard? Thoughts? If untrue, how many block I's will be left?

All dual seater will also be getting aesa radar unless plans are changed

B-1s are receiving overhauls and upgrades but not entirely to B-2 standard. However the upgrades they’re receiving are more than enough to keep them relevant for now.
Plan is still present, block 2 B aircraft already have some of the improvements or block 3 like 3 Axis FBW. The current block 3 order dictates for upgrading all Block 2 B with AESAs as well as ordering 30 new aircraft (with a follow up order expected afterwards)

Thanks, what upgrades are the B1's receiving? Just interested to know about the Radar and BVR missiles related capability.
On BII and BIII, what would be the total number including the follow on order of 30 jets, that would serve the PAF with BIII specs?

B1 and B2 have the same radar And carry the same missiles so there’s no difference In capability In this regard. The upgrades they have received (from what I know) are related to extra fuel, wing strengthening for extra payload, extra oxygen for longer endurance, maybe airframe upgrades to add more composites as in block 2 (If we are to go off the pictures and the notion that the green materials highlight composites). I believe there would also be upgrades on the software side to bring it closer to block 2, there might be more that I don’t know of. They are also receiving general airframe and engine overhauls.
After the first order the total number of Block 3 level aircraft should be around 50-55, while total thunders will be around 164-170 but it is expected that there will be another order after that as there is still work going on for future models of JF.
