JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Figures are almost estimated at 1000 KG benchmark, don't consider it as exact, bigger than 1000 kg here doesn't mean that it goes up to 1100 or 1200 kg, as I stated that it is from 2011 and related to B1

If they want to change it in block 3 then they would've strengthened the wings and hardpoints to enhance the weight carry capability

this shows RAAD on inner hard point:

Which they did with block 2s. I do not know what the current capacity per HP is but irrespective of the capacity when you load a plane like that you can seriously impair its range.
The likelihood is if the plane is capable of carrying excessive weights it will be on the centre point. My own opinion but make of it what you want.

HD1 developed by China-based Guangdong Hongda Blasting Company. Hongda is currently participating in AirShowChina-2021. Back in 2018, it was reported by only Indian sources that Pakistan might procure HD-1, a direct competitor or better than BrahMos. An airborne ramjet super-sonic ship killer missile.

But Sir above picture of so called HD-1 on JFT has only 2 intakes but the pictures you posted have 4 intakes or I am missing something??

Target multiple bogies during combat.

Or - to ensure high probability of the kill - an aircraft loses a lot of energy in trying to shake off an AAM aimed at it with aggressive manoveurs - and it is therefore very vulnerable to the 2nd missile due to lower energy, meaning chances of it evading the 2nd missile decrease massively.

Think of it as a double tap - just to be sure the plane has gone down.

I fully agree and IMO it is not the HD-1 - maybe a closely related development but not exactly the HD-1 or HD-1A - ... however it looks comparable to an ASM developed from Ukraine (even if I just missed its designation).

Even that causes compromise in flight performance. This is a problem. As i have mentioned in the past & Someone mentioned Raad integration at inner pylon which was on the cards. Inner pylons are capable to carry around 1000 kg but that comes with 'reduction in gain in flight performance' viz-a-viz to altitude.

Which they did with block 2s. I do not know what the current capacity per HP is but irrespective of the capacity when you load a plane like that you can seriously impair its range.

Dont forget ' PAF operating in panjsher' promotion. I wish they had not messed up and entertained us with an thunder flying instead of an US eagle. They are truely stupids. Somebody wants to see stupids, turm East.

Iraq has decided to purchase 12 JF-17 Thunder Block III fighter jets from Pakistan.
According to reports, the defense deal was approved by both the Iraqi and Pakistani governments, and a formal agreement is expected to be signed in Islamabad next month.

After several rounds of negotiations between Iraq and Pakistan on fighter jets, Iraq’s government approved the amount of 664 million USD for the purchase of 12 fighter aircraft from Pakistan. The deal was finalized during Deputy Commander Iraqi Air Force Major General (Pilot) Muhammad Majeed Mahdi Mahmood’s visit to Pakistan.

Golden words.
Thank you so much for this short and smart defination.
These words will be quoted again and again... Atleast by me.

I guess the question is what is max load for second pair of under wing hp ? 500 kg or more ?

. .
Thanks for this. As I suspected, the information says ">1,000kg" = "greater than 1,000kg" ... not "maximum 1,000kg"
The FLCS can be configured to limit maneuver capabilities during such loads but at the end it is a light aircraft from which a lot of performance is being wrangled out of.

The a-7 could do this load but then it flew like a pig with it.

JF-17 Block III , at best will be comparable to F-16 C/D , the AESA radar puts it in a separate class
Still great achievement for Pakistan's Airforce

We need to replace Mirages :coffee: From 1970's
Not a F-22 or F-35

But that is ok with the current weapons we operate
Would be nice to see once the bird is officially released how well it performs vs F16 C/D class

May be once the helmet mounted targeting pod is integrated we can analyze if the Radar plus Targeting pod make a big impact

Sure feels like time when Super Mushshak was launched, in 1981 , we sure have come long way since 1981
