JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

HD1 developed by China-based Guangdong Hongda Blasting Company. Hongda is currently participating in AirShowChina-2021. Back in 2018, it was reported by only Indian sources that Pakistan might procure HD-1, a direct competitor or better than BrahMos. An airborne ramjet super-sonic ship killer missile.

Not a single launch video of HD 1 found on YouTube :(
Can you explain some parameters of HD 1 as according to @Dazzler Our supersonic missile also has DNA of HD 1.
Where it stands in front of Yakhont/Brahmose.
Wikipedia says it cruises at 15 km altitude.this is huge altitude for a cruise missile.is not it?

No details available except for media claims that HD-1 is superior to BrahMos and that's it. There is no doubt that Pakistan homegrown solution will have help from Friend(s) either for PN or PAF AAM.

At least an image of a real test ...

. . .
Why HD 1 when we are working on our own supersonic cruise missile

The indigenous supersonic missile might well be a licence manufactured version of HD1 or similar Chinese missiles. Most Pakistani missiles are either local manufactured versions, or borrow heavily from existing Chinese designs.

. . .
No.
According to MoDP yearly book: we are developing supersonic cruise missile from 2016.so it is most likely an indigenously developed missile.
Why so much time for only liscence production?

Depends on whether it is based on a missile still in development in China, could be a joint collaboration.

Why will they do a joint venture with us when they already have many supersonic missiles in service?
I still think our missile is indigenous.of course some help can be taken from them.if our missile resembles with HD 1 ,no problem.our engineers may have inspected many already present supersonic missile concepts and then they built on one of them.most likely our missile is completely indigenous.

. . .
'Current' is the key word. The new R-77 have already been ordered and Astra is also on the way. Pakistan should contract the Russians for some of the new R-77s itself too so as to avoid any surprises.
Absolutely, I was surprised that the i-derby did not pan out as well for India. The new R-77 isn’t a concern but the Astra is untested/unknown which is the spoiler in the mix. However, whatever is known of all of these weapons Pakistani JF-17s and any future assets planned will continue to out-stick them thanks to the Chinese(who are planning for the US and so designing to that threat)

China wouldn't be collaborating with Pakistan for its benefit :) it could be a similar collaboration as the JF-17, China provides some R&D costs, Pakistan the other share, to develop a Pakistan-specific product with potential for export. Remember, China has it's own programmes that it will never export and develops products specifically for export purposes. Munitions are no different.
