JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

. .
Corrupt governments trying to kill the project to pocket the money

For your information brother.

11-17 February 1998: During Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's first week-long visit to China, MOU for the design and joint development leading to manufacture of a multirole fighter aircraft Super-7 was signed.

28-30 June 1999: During PM Nawaz Sharif's second three-day visit to China, contract to co-develop and manufacture Super-7 was signed.

Yes, so much that there zero were made in 2014, if the figures provided by @Pakistan Space Agency are correct.
It does seem form the figures provided that the project picked up pace after 2013. The zero in 2014 could be due to cange from block-1 to block-2. You would notice in the figures provided that last block-1 was made in 2013 and first block-2 in 2015.

Ok, but my point was what is the reason for such significant fluctuations? If we could produce 16 in 2010, then why only 8 in '11 and then a mere 6 in '12 (only 8 in '13 aswell)?? These were all block-1 btw so no change in block either.

The JF-17 Crash in 2011 slowed down the production as they had to re-evaluate and fix certain things in JF-17 once again i.e Wing Strengthening . Also PAF is on record saying, That it was cash strapped and lot of projects were slowed down in 2010-2013 period.

.

Truth is whether someone likes it or not - JF17 project always gained speed during Nawaz gov. And we should give respect to the people behind this project.
Why do people say the servants of the nation...nS Zardari IK and every PM since 1947 did us a favour.
Understand they are the servants of the poorest weakest Pakistani and it's your mindset that has turned them into our rulers.

Per paf book nothing of the sort Was mentioned except some block 1 production was delayed to Expedite the transfer of technology and manufacturing of parts plus lastly adding vertical stabilizer in the work share

If this is correct, why so much fluctuation in Production? 16 in 2010 to only 6-8 in 2011 till 2013 , and zero in 2014?? And again 22 in 2017 and then only 5 in 2018 and 2019??

BTW, did you mean 1x602B has no pictorial confirmation? (you wrote 1x603B)

Block-2 Production ended in 2017. PAF decided that there is a good 2-3 year gap before Block-III production begins, so factories will not remain idle. 18 excess Block-2 were decided to be manufactured in the gap years to keep the workforce and factories busy. This way not only PAF covered the 2 lost JF-17 in 2011 and 2016 sea crash but also covered the export orders as well as got an experience on manufacturing JF-17 B two seater

Hence 2018-2019 production is kept as such to produce 18 extra block 2 as well B version and Export orders.

Per paf book nothing of the sort Was mentioned except some block 1 production was delayed to Expedite the transfer of technology and manufacturing of parts plus lastly adding vertical stabilizer in the work share

I'm basing my post on 2011 The news article where PAF Air chief at that time admitted as such. Also the rumors and insider news of 2011 and also the wing strengthening on new JF-17 started appearing on jets manufactured in 2010.

Guess they omitted or chose not to say such in their PAF book.

The bowel movements of quite a few people saw improvement when the Sharifs were in government. Would you like us to respect them for this too?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe NS did sign the JV agreement with China for JF-17. But whether or not JF-17's R&D and production gained ''speed" during his tenure needs to backed up by some evidence. But therein is a good topic for PhD if someone wants to do it, "Military R&D in Pakistan: A Comparative Study Between Military and Democratic Regimes." In my personal research experience I have found civilian governments very much involved in military projects, though their participation, contribution, and more importantly control over these projects is kept at minimal levels due to factors that are easily deducible.
