It is also said that its developed from Israeli ELTA 2052 AESA radar (Israel may have been involved to some level), if true how capable it would be?

I don't get it. where did you get the idea that it is a copy. They are making 5th generation tech and they need to copy, well come on a little common sense please ?
Their J20 will be operational in max 2 years and will be mass produced. They have made AESA AWACS, AESA Radar for J15, J11, J10, JH7B even the Frigates are equipped with AESA Radar. They equipped their Su30/35 fleet with domestic Radar, EW suits, HMS etc.
ELTA 2052 AESA is completely different than KLJ-7A and KLJ-7A is NEW radar.

Some indians are butt hurt and calling it copy this and that. So please before accepting it foolishly just even check their pictures before accepting it.

The Block II variant is expected to be followed by the Block III, which might feature a more powerful engine (WS-13B?), a new AESA radar developed by NETRI/14th Institute(KLJ-7A, range 170km, track 15, engage 4), IRST, HMD, full authority digital FBW and additional types of weapons. A tandem-seat trainer version (JF-17B) was first unveiled at the 2013 Paris Airshow by CATIC, whichfeatures an IFR probe. JF-17B is expected to fly by the end of 2016.

Hi,

Many a times it is better to make copies of high tech weapnery---and it is smart as well. Because you can steal it and there is no copyright infringement on it---.

Let someone else do the research and spend the money--and then you tag along for the ride.

JF-17 incorporates techniques and problem solving methods which are may be or may not be used by other ACs. It also incorporates knowledge learned from different ACs like F16, Mirages, F7 etc so JF-17 is stolen and copied design.
Many are dumb enough to accept it and if they do so they should stay dumb.

I don't want to indulge in a conversation which is technical related and you may not have any technical knowledge.

The primary discussion was basically on the design of the 5th gen---. How the chinese got there.

JF17 is an INFERIOR product to current days technology of the leading powers---. The capabilities of the JF17 BLK1 were similar to that of the mirage F1---F16 A-B---a 70's technology aircraft---except for the EW suite.

So when you build a product that is a copy of something in production and readily available for the last 40 + years---it is not stealing technology.

But when a product has a lots of secrecy attached to it and hardly any information about its capabilities is available---and only that those are speculations and 'rumors'---and if you can make a copy of that item somehow or the other thru espionage---that is stealing----.

When you ASSUME----you make an As-s out of U & ----. Make as-s out of yourself and leave me out of it.

Post something here that shows your technical strength---let us see what you are made up of---. Let us see your technical 'wonderment'.

its foolish to say that any modern plan is similar to 1970s..this is true for everything including air frame not just for avionics..the thunder air frame itself proves that..

If you had that much intellect and knowledge you would have understood that I stated neither of those things---.

What R&D and what research---you mean to say that in 200 million dollars they did all the R&D and research and built a plane from scratch---?

In that case---I will let you stay in the framework of your knowledge base and won't disturb your apple cart---lest you learn something better.
