To add another pylon will definitely need to strengthen outer wing
Not that simple.

You have to figure out what kind of ordnance is possible on which station. Wing pylons are precise locations calculated from conception, which includes what kind of ordnance are available at the current time.

Here are a few examples of weapons and external stores release tests that went wrong...


People thinks that a 226kg, or 500 lbs, bomb will just simply drop straight down. The reality is that if aerodynamics can lift an F-16 at 17,000 kg into flight, tossing 226 kg is practically nothing.

No, it is not. It depends on what kind of ordnance you have.

What kind of guidance do you have? Early laser guided munitions requires you to maintain steady laser focus on the target so your bombs can find their way. This is just one example.

If we can experience unpredictable behaviors from dropped ordnance in straight and level flight, there is no telling what we can experience while under maneuvers, even as simple as a dive.

Another consideration is that not all angles of approach -- to the target -- are the same. When you are on station, meaning over the battlefield, the decision on how to deliver gravity ordnance varies. Depending on the target, one approach maybe steeper or shallower than the previous. Precision munitions, especially the gravity driven type, still need that initial orientation to the target in order to reduce the odds of a miss.

The big difference I see from visual review of pics only is compared to f-16 wing jf wing has a joint between inner and outer wing while f-16 the wing is one whole piece ie the spars run in f-16 from fuselage/wing root all the way to wing tip while jf the inner wing with fuel and outer wing are joint anyway I am not structure expert but based on little exposure I have perhaps it’s better the run the steel plate/bar that runs all the way to tip see as follows in silver color ( in the wing) to further strengthen complete Wing and add one additional pylon which can accommodate single sd-10 weights weapon about 200 kg /250 kg bomb

JL-10 just added third under wing pylon which can take 250-300 kg bombs, chinese jdam

Our chinese colleagues @ SAR completed TPF for a 44000 lbf turbine equivalent to any modern aero-turbine.
Great achievement. Hatsoff to our chinese colleagues, people at Shenyang and the Chinese nation at large. Wonderful work. Very hard working, tireless, competent, disciplined nation.
