Per janes defence and Chinese/ pac there is already a prototype of fc1 flying with ws13 / ws17 for last 2/3/4 years what announcement are you referring to?

Hi,

I mean to say---that should be obvious that the FC1 would be checking out newer & different options.
what option sir RD-93 and WS the only option left for PAF sir and don't tell western option their will no chance that we will get western engines like EJ-200 or M-88:disagree:

Hi,

Why do you need EJ200 or M88---when you already have a very good working RD93---a possible RD33 in the future or the WS13.

Sanction proof---and less than half the cost---for the rest of the money get a better EW suite---.

As they are, M-88 and EJ-200 are BOTH used for twin engine planes (Rafale and EFT respectively). The thrust is lower for that reason with M-88 producing 50kN and 75kN (dry and wet) and EJ-200 producing better 60kN (dry) and 90kN (with after burners). These won’t give a thrust to weight ratio of above 1 to JF17. The currently in use RD-93 gives (as per some reports) 80kN (dry) and 98kN (with afterburner) while the worst thrust reports suggest it to still be more than M-88. What we should look at is an improved version of the same with some tweaks to address any issues (PAF claims that there are none) rather than going all crazy about some western stuff. Also please note that only the engines meant to equip single engine planes will actually suite JF17.

i am asking for foreign buyers which might asked to integrate those engine like Saudi Arabia, Egypt etc etco_O

Bahi these engines are likely to decrease the aircraft performance so not suitable even for export. The only possible reason can the the country that is buying may ask for these for engine commonality with the aircraft they are already operating (M-88 in case of Egypt and EJ-200 in case of Saudia) In that case we those countries should be kept in loop when asking for the engine from the supplier country, that will help. However as i mentioned, these are not likely to be suitable for JF17!

ok sir you right about M-88 it has a less thrust than RD-93 but you can't say about EJ-200, it has a higher thrust than RD-93 sir

As per some reports the RD-93 is capable of 98kN wet thrust that is more as compared to 90kN of EJ-200 as well. Then there is this small matter of an upgraded version RD-93MA. Thus the point;
