Can a block 1 be modernized to block 3? 1-->2-->3? Or once it was built, it will stay the same block?

Its possible installation of air cool AESA like lfk and update its avionics but its not possible to upgrade its all subsystems like block 3 have

Hi,

I am surprised that not a single poster has recalled that the JF-17 was built as a MODULAR DESIGN aircraft---. It was touted as a MODULAR DESIGN.

At the time of build---provision was provided for all foreseen upgrades in the coming years to be made possible upto a certain extent.

Even for the installation of the chinese engine being built for the JF17 was considered in the original design phase.

But as the cost of the aircraft is so low for the PAF---would they really really want to spend that kind of money on the BLK 1 to make it all the way a BLK 3 when they can have a true BLK 3 for a little more---.

These were actually produced in Pakistan.

Hafr, it was also exported to Azerbaijan, couple of years back.
