It's not just about relations, it's business. US firms invest billions in developing these technologies and have the right to earn from them.

So any idea of integrating our own avionics in F-16s only depend if USA provides us these codes, which going by our relations, won't happen. Right?.

Pakistani media has reported that Sri Lanka is the first international customer for the JF-17 fighter, jointly developed by Pakistan and China. At the Paris Air Show last week, the JF-17’s sales and marketing lead PAF Air Commodore Khalid Mahmood told press that a contract had been agreed with anundisclosed Asian customer . These reports have beenplayed-down by the Sri Lankan Air Force, who claim that although the aircraft is under consideration, a decision on whether it will be procured has not yet been taken.

Confusion prevails

Yes, while at the same time Sri Lankan defence procurement officials denied to @IHS4DefRiskSec that Colombo has bought the JF-17 Thunder from Pakistan-China. (via James Hardy)

What was the purpose of the letter of credit for the fighters is they are not interested? We are talking of at least half a billion dollars of credit, someone (in fact, several people representing institutions, like government, airforces, banks, lawyers, etc) sat down and negotiated, gave guarantees and signed.... .... All for "not interested"? ... ...

.
LC refers to as letter of credit ,In normal business terms if a person is buying some thing from abroad this is the mode of payment as all goods delivered are via LC .One can say LC confirms order/intent of buying almost 99% confirm order until unless vendor refused/unable to deliver .

Its 23mm dual barrel gun mount.
yeah that it is:

JF-17 Dual Barrel Gun

I HOPE we see a dedicated mission POD or EW hard point on the other side forward fuselage. As stated, that coupled with dual missile racks for SD-10 under wings will give a massive boost to JF-17 fire power. IN current configuration, using one of the only seven hard points for a targeting POD do leave the JFT a bit under armed.

I think what he meant was to add Pakistani made systems, if any, to the F-16 fleet after seeking manufacturer and USA approval, similar to the F-16I 'Sufa'
I guess he meant that but as mentioned that wont be feasible, neither for LM nor for PAC/PAF. WE will have to share the technology with them in order to get clearance to incorporate that with F-16. If we do so WITHOUT permission, that means no further program/system support from the provider plus it will really piss off Americans and LM. IN order to get permission, as mentioned, we will have to share the technology, while it wont be anything US wont have so may steal it, still it will be confidential. PAC don't even let us know about the number of planes operational let alone sharing the complete details of there jamming POD with LM or USAF. Keeping this in mind, it wont be feasible for us.
PLUS, it means loss in sales of spares, upgrades and maintenance so they wont bear this financial loss. In one line, Feasible to someone who have relations with US like that of Israel, not for someone like Pakistan. :)

13 block 2's already made? That is some good work. Could it be that PAC has finally started producing the promised 25 /year? If so it could mean that the Blk-III would indeed fly by 2017-18. Or is it that the export order has increased the production?

PS: Further proof for all those who thought that 50 or 110 or whatever number of JF-17s were going to come directly from China; China is not producing any JF-17s, as of yet, and if they are to come then they will come from PAC.

Production started in June 2014. So 13 JF B-2 in one year is not at all bad Considering our production rate dropped to 7-8 per year in 2012-2013.
