Plus block-2 production pushed from July/August 2012 to 2013. Finances are causing great deal of trouble to PAF
Yes, and they don't tend to go up in flames....like the NANO.
on a side note. Induction of 3rd squadron of JF-17 is once again delayed to early next year. It's becoming irritating now why it is being delayed again and again our pilots are not that incompetent that they would take such time to handle JF-17. Comparing induction of first two squadrons and now the 3rd squadron, question arises is there any other factor involved beside the training thing which is causing delay.

The missile is a variant of SY-400 Missile.
If you look at the specs and pictures of SY-400,all will start making sense to you.
The missiles range has been sacrificed by rwducing fuel and hencw weight, probably for cramming in more electronics and for making it suitable for JF-17.
SY-400 has a confirmed sustained speed of mach 4, and probably terminal phase velocity higher than that..
For that reason i have no doubt in any specs mentioned here for this variant fot jf 17.
Mind you, unlike Brahmos its not 'all the way powered' missile.
It looks like flying a 'trajectory'.
That means it will be powered initially, then first stage falls off,and missile flies unpowered following a parabolic path, and then before arriving at the target, rocket motor fires up for directional control and manoevarability, and the missile adjusts itself to hit the target and takes a nose dive, gaining momentum all the way to mach 5.5 before hitting the target.
I cant understand how are they buying and inducting these expensive missiles then !
Its the engine issue.. PAF does not want the next squad to be powered by RD 93 and a replacement is not yet ready..
So logically what caused the delay?
It wasn't sarcasm ... I am sure its the finance but still aren't they inducting these newer missiles ? It makes no sense whatsoever ...
You know what's funny (apart from your lack of comprehension of sarcasm ).... ?? Pakistanis jumping around telling Indians how a chinese missile is better than brahmos when Pakistan has not been able to develop either

ok now its clear, it is not a true cruise missile but a old gen tech which soviets and Americans retired..nothing extraordinary about it.
PAF and their way of dealing businesses !
The delay was caused by the Third Squadron of JF-17.JF-17 Project direcotr AVM Javaid Ahmad in kanwa magazine said Block 2 will be rolled out in 2012
Last year in dubai airshow, PAF TIMELINE showed Block-2 will come in July/August 2012.
So logically what caused the delay?
blah! blah! blah! - pl try to make some sense.
