are your talking about something related to childs play????? my son, people on top are always updated on all the new facts which are important for anything related to defence/offence...

You'd have to be a lot of things to call me your son !

The current leadership is very much in touch with today's demands..

Santro,
I have spent time with both PAF and PA, and unfortunately PAF disappointed me; maybe I had too high an expectation ...
I sure found officers who knowledge, who had recent experience etc etc etc .....
but how that knowledge transforms into procedural improvement beyond the air head quarters is some thing to be desired.
Beloved Shigri sahab was one person, how many others can be produced ?
How much success did Shigri sb have ?
How much bright ideas are floating in AWC .... and how many of them ever make it to proposal stage @ air head quarters ?
I have my grievances .... and my disappointments.

I have some examples, but a forum is not a place to discuss those; you can take my word for it.

.
any bit of money paf acquires now they should invest in a bigger multirole fighter may be f15, typhoons, f18 or mig35. God! i would love to see some 100 f15s in paf.

. . .

Salman,

You are correct in what you wrote----. Even progressive armies like the u s military had to go thru a period of ignorance---and it has not disappeared totally at the command level.

.
because it is a very advanced fighter which can kick iaf's *** and that will sure as hell satisfy me.

waste of time to discuss with you troll...

@mastan khan... a small advice to you guys.... please stick to the topic.. i guess there are threads related to PAF......

@ababeel..... F-15's are becoming old , neither US will give you their most potent aircraft....nor you have money to buy..... US will never offer you its best plat form fighter......

Unfortunately mediocrity always finds a way to make it to the top tier in Pakistan's Armed forces.
More so in the Army..but to a proportionate degree..the AF and Navy too.
The "Stuffed Chair" mentality.. and the career focused attitude of "Dont rock the boat".. keeps many fine improvements from making it to the top.. And this has an effect down the order as such an individual in the dept effect all his subordinates who also decide not to give a hoot and let things be.
However.. things do change when the top leadership performs. There is a lot of hope with the current one..
lets hope that performance is forthcoming.

With regards to Shigri Sb.. although extremely off topic.. I have a whole bunch of stories regarding his family..nothing offensive.. just fun accounts of some antics heard revolving around the af..
Still.. a brilliant officer.. and fun people to know.

thats y i said if they get money some. having a more advanced 4.5 gen fighter can buy paf time to look for its 5th gen. fighter.

Ababeel

In case you missed this .........THERE are hundreds of posts and dozens of threads on PAF decision (so we are led to understand) to BUY the chinease J10/FC20 as the PAF top tier multi role fighter.

I think the PROBLEM with the F15 will be same as F16 IE threat of USA sanctions.

But TYPHOONS are a distinct possibility.......in small nos

Isn't the jf-17 are prone to sanction from Russia as they are using russian engine ?

NO.. Indian diplomacy on that front failed since the RD-93 is sold first to China.. then to us.
And the Russians do not wish to offend China.

India Joins the Jet Engine Constructors Club

September 12, 2006: India has taken another step to improve its ability to produce aircraft engines. India will now build the Russian RD-33 jet engine under license. While many Russian parts will be used, this deal will enable India, like China, to work its way into the exclusive club of nations capable of building jet engines. Russia will make $250 million out of this deal.

The RD-33 is a Cold War era design, created to power the MiG-29 fighter. But since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Klimov, the manufacturer, has greatly improved the RD-33, and now the engine is basically built to Western standards. That, for example, can be seen in the 4,000 hour service life of the engine. At the end of the Cold War, RD-33 engines were lucky to last half that, and have far more reliability problems along the way.

Weighing 1.1 tons, the engine generates up to 20,000 pounds of thrust. The engine can be used in other fighters, like the French Mirage. India has made similar deals to produce other Russian jet engines, but the RD-33 is the most complex engine design so far to be built in India.

Procurement: India Joins the Jet Engine Constructors Club

I am not sure why the threat is being derailed on and on again!!!! Please stick to the topic. Indian jet engines don't belong to this threat and nor does bit-ching about PAF or 'the Pakistanis' belongs here!

PAF is a professional service and lately, they've bee doing a lot of work. The service doesn't run the country so it's dependent upon funding and political crap from the gov't in control (whoever that may be at the time). I understand that people may have hurt feelings or 'bad experiences' but the service doesn't exist to support individual emotions! It's job is to defend the country and it's been doing that with the blood of its servicemen, just like USAF, IDF, etc.
JF-17 is probably the best decision made by PAF. Time will prove it when in next Ten years, PAC will design a fighter and related technologies on its own, it's just a matter of a few years. A war will turn into a MAD conflict due to the depth of Pak so a full fledged war is out of equation unless something really really stupid happens. Everyone knows it and I hope both the countries open up their doors to equal trade vs. military conflicts for the betterment of their people!
Last but not least, @ Mr. Mastan Khan: I've come across a ton of posts where you've outlined how 'the Pakistanis' can't deal with 'a white man' for sheet. I'd like to correct that. Your elected officials are cheap, cold blooded criminals who are sitting in Pak Gov't based on their family owned votes. But that doesn't reflect all Pakistanis.
There are American Pakistanis who advise C level executives of organizations like GE, Citi, Energy companies, etc, etc on what to do and how to run their organizations or initiatives. If you read my other posts from before, I've stressed on Pakistanis to GET EDUCATED NO MATTER WHAT. Their time will come soon to advance so they need their degrees ready when the time comes. It's almost guaranteed that the time will come within the next 10 - 15 years. They need to be ready to advance and prosper. But right now, the population difference between India and Pak is huge. That's why you see a LOT of Indians and less Pakistanis here in US in key roles, plus the Indian lobby's very strong and they spent a lot of money to influence corporations and the USG. To give credit to where its deserved, Indian community got education, learned the American system and seized on the opportunity. I am not a fan of some of their business ethics as they can be very shady but they've taken over US in many ways or at least have a VERY strong and growing hold in almost all areas of the US.
Mods, sorry to post off topic but a lot of crap was being said here in this thread so I kind of wanted to respond here. My apologies for derailing the topic further. If there are more 'hurt feelings' around PAF or how 'the Pakistanis' don't know sheet, please open up a separate thread, I'd love to debate.

I wont call it exactly a failure.

It can be more precisely to the American behaviour of selling weapons to Arabs and but reserving the superior items to Israel.

RD-93 is basically a downgraded version of the latest RD-33 series 3 (rumored to have been again upgraded to RD-33 MK) we are license building in Koraput.
